I have checked in twice, with no response, and have yet to see the box. I hope it hasn't disappeared into UPS oblivion!Victoria wrote:Augie should have the box now, but has not checked in yet!

My bad.
I haven't sent it yet.
It's been packed up since the evening of the night I received it but I just have been so busy. I'm hoping to get it out today or if not, will definitely mail tomorrow.
In my defence, I don't think I've had it any longer than the few folks before me did...

Please take your time! I have the other box pass in my possession at the moment and haven't even been home to play with that since I had it sent to my home address instead of my college one. I won't get to that one until tonight and it may take me a few days to figure out what I want samples of so have fun and don't rush getting the oolong box pass to me.augie wrote:Yes, arrived last Friday and I am enjoying it every day. I have had 3 proposals to get out in the last 2 wks. 1.0 is going to help me make a video before I send it on it's way to CK.Victoria wrote:I can confirm on her behalf!! It has safely arrived!!

I'm afraid it has become a bit picked over. There were a lot of unappealing (to me) teas including a lot of weird scented or flavored teas (bits of orange peel, spice, etc. -- I thought this was an oolong pass) and what oolongs there were were heavy on the Wuyi and low-grade TGY. There were a couple grams of a Li Shan that was very nice, and a few more of a so-so Dancong. Other than that, and a couple Da Hong Paos I didn't try much from it. There was some nice Hou De Fo Shou, but I have a lot of that on hand already. Oh, and there was quite a nice sampling of adagio oolongs. I should have tried those, but I didn't. A whole bunch of matching little cans. Looked nice. The enthusium seems to have waned, and I am wonding if it is because
the contents are picked over and/or getting stale.
But I had the sense that most of what was in the box at this point were people's cast-offs. I threw a few more things in the box, but I didn't have a whole lot of oolong to add, as I hadn't been buying much oolong in anticipation of the pass. So I put in a bunch of Tea Source's weird "milk oolong" and some of their "Big Red Robe" (more Wuyi, sorry) and a few other things but I'm heavy at the moment on the same things the box was heavy one (TKY, DHP, and that great Fo Shou) and short on what it needed most (Dancongs and jade oolongs).
Oh well...

Were the scented teas also Oolongs?

Yes, those tasting notes are from the first batch, what is in the box is from the exact same farmer but the next years batch, so slightly different.tenuki wrote:May be a different batch. I'll ask next time I'm in.Chip wrote:It is however interesting that the smokiness you found in February has really subsided. I wonder if you have any now and if your impression would be different today? This one has a LOT of frequent flyer miles compared to whatever you may still have and might be quite different today compared to this one.

Who has the box now? Any notes from the last couple recipients?

Yep, I'm anxiously awaiting my turn... although I am afraid at this point, there won't be much left but stale dust and fannings. I'm jumping on the bandwagon earlier next time!
