Indeed!

How many did you buy? The whole set?

Dimensions? It may possibly be a kashiki, a bowl or tray for serving (tea) sweets. Although I think ceramic is more usual for bowl-style kashiki than lacquered wood.

In any case, it is very beautiful...

Ooh, I've admired those many times. Very elegant!

20cm wide (8.5 inches). I would have preferred ceramic but it should pair well with my Ninsei Utsushi Kyoyaki chawan.

Nice pot Luthier!!

Thanks everyone! And thanks for the link chicagopotter,
Yes, similar beautiful theme going on there. Tall wavy
grass or grain.

Olivier - I thought a set of five would be too many. He offered
to break it down for me. Now that I have them in my hands,
I wish I would have gotten more then two.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh nice shyrabbit!! I have admired many a chawan with a glaze drip, but I am afraid to buy one. They are so beautiful and usually so expensive, I am worried about breaking off the drip. Beautiful!

Victoria,

I've heard this often. IMHO, the chance of breaking off the drip is roughly equal to chipping the lip. Of course it depends on the thickness of the drip. The glaze glass is quite tough really.

Don't get to many drippers that stop just short. Most drippers turn into grinders.
