Today is definitely better than yesterday, as yesterday I did not get to the YM as I had planned and today I did! Tomorrow should be even better, as I plan on opening one of the teas that I got from Yuuki-Cha if I can finish off most of the YM tonight and tomorrow morning. I might just open one any ways because I am impatient.
I am about to clean out my teapot from the YM that I had earlier and either make more or make something else. Should be a fun adventure!

If you're interested, Salsero, I can tell you where I got the kyuusu that's in my avatar at left

Today was a fun day... the Emperor and Empress of Japan have been visiting Canada, and this morning I managed to get some good photos during their visit to the B.C. Legislature. The Empress actually turned towards me, smiled and waved after I squealed "Konnichiwa" during the walk-past. She looked super-elegant in a sheer cream-coloured kimono. I hope I look that good when I'm 74...
So in honour of the occasion, I'm going to hit the sencha tonight

Yes, the tea in my life just keeps getting better and better!

You already did. I haven't begun work on the nano-pot collection yet. Congrats on hobnobbing with royalty!chamekke wrote: If you're interested, Salsero, I can tell you where I got the kyuusu that's in my avatar

Ditto, though I don't need a good reason.Chamekke wrote:Today was a fun day... the Emperor and Empress of Japan have been visiting Canada, and this morning I managed to get some good photos during their visit to the B.C. Sooo, Shincha Fukamushi Supreme from O-Cha, an O-Cha trifecta TD. Woot. This is leftover from a tasting. Very tasty. Doing mini sessions with it so I do not run out of it.

Today was a much better tea day b/c yesterday, for the first time in a few years, all I had was leftover tea (in fridge) from the day before. Sure, it tasted fine but not the same as a new brew.
Speaking of new brews, this weekend I had my first homemade batch of kombucha tea, put it in a jar with a couple of cubes of pureed pineapple: wowzers.
Today's "normal" tea has been silver needle with rosebuds, and except for the first cup of the day, all steeps put on ice b/c it's so hot here (hot for Colorado, anyway).

Same here, I agree 100%!!Maitre_Tea wrote:It only gets better, because with each day you learn a little more about tea, so your tea also improves too. I've noticed my brewing method is betting better each time.
Also, I learn of better places to get tea every time I speak with you fine people.
Hope everyone is having a decent weekend.

Just placed my 4th Adagio order. Whoot, new tea coming next week, and it will have two samples of white tea this time!
Hmm. If the unthinkable happened and the white tea got mixed with the black tea in a spill, would I get grey tea? Oh the horror!

Yeah, try more leaf. I approach 1 gram leaf per 1 ounce water for this shincha. I also pour 172-175* over leaf into an unheated kyusu vs pouring cooler water into a preheated kyusu. Kicks up the intensity a bit.MASALACHAAAAIIIIII wrote:Just had my second infusion of yutaka midori, pretty good! But I will have to work on parameters, a bit too weak, need more leaf. Quite happy with all my o-cha orders! Better and betta!
Hope everyone is having a great, relaxing day
Soggy leaf tea currently and dreaming of a better TD tomorrow.

Thanks for the suggestion Chip! I realized I definitely needed more leaf, I will try "shocking" the leaf as well tomorrow with a higher temp no preheat.
Just had my first infusion of YM again, this time with more leaf MMMMMMMMMMMMM so good. It just might beat sae midori
, can only imagine how the kiramaki will taste. After my next infusions of this great shincha, will end the day with a great cup of hot cocoa with some masala mmmm mmmm (yes the in the middle of July in the deep south hahahahahaha my third roommate thinks I am nuts)
