Thanks Olivier and Geek! OK, I am done Modding/New Forum Fixin' for a bit. Brain hurts.
Enjoy your gyokuro in your new Hagi set, Geek.
New fave tea? I don't think so, but I am always open to and trying new teas!
Began the TD with Yutaka Midori from O-Cha. Bangin'! SweeTea slurped the brew while Fuji made her(?) first appearance to the "TeaRoom!"
I am ready for another tea!!!

Re: Thursday TeaDay 7/23/09 New fave this year?
My 600 pixel photos in past posts seem still to be cut off. Could it be that the new limit is 540 px, not 640?Chip wrote: photo size limits are now in place. 640 pixels wide!!!

It was at 500, I just changed it to 640 minutes ago. Again, might not retroactively fix. I think it should since it is a hosted photo. BUT, there are going to be some major cut photos for those who had been posting photos 2-3X that width.

Well, at least that should fix the problems created by the extra large photos: awkward sideways scrolling in IE and slow load times in Firefox.Chip wrote: It was at 500, I just changed it to 640 minutes ago. OK, here is a test case:
600 px:

500 px:

Mmm, doesn't look like the 640 width has taken hold. Maybe we all need to restart all of our computers at the same time.
Ready, 1 ... 2 ... 3 !!! Weeeeeeee!

Blame phpBB.
I am certain it was 500 W, and I changed it to 640, but will double check, but right now, prioriTea is ... TEA!!!

Dunno about here, but on blogger, you can set your photos for a certain width, but if you don't also reset your columns to accomodate that width, it allows it but just cuts off the right edge of the photo.

Thx be for TEA ...Chip wrote: but right now, prioriTea is ... TEA!!!
That makes perfect sense to me! I might be getting a little computer literacy after all. Practically, it means the limit will remain 500 px viewable.GeekgirlUnveiled wrote:Dunno about here, but on blogger, you can set your photos for a certain width, but if you don't also reset your columns to accomodate that width, it allows it but just cuts off the right edge of the photo.

I'm so fickle, I have a different favorite every couple of weeks. One of the things I really love about tea is the amazing variety, and how much I enjoy coming back to an old favorite I haven't tasted recently. And of course, the journey for new favorites is never-ending.
I had some blah gyokuro in my new Hagi set... the set is exquisite, the tea was bland. I think it's time to make an order.

Yes! I have a new favorite so-far into 2009!
This year's Oohashiri Shincha from Maeda En turned out very very well!
In my cup today: 8th & Ocean from Kokomo Tea.

Yes might be somewhat of an understatement... first I discoved wuyi's and those were great, then I discovered aged oolongs and wow.... then with slight urging and the earning of money from a summer job, I discovered aged sheng pu, something the 90's tuo only hinted at... and yes I am hooked, on all three. Leaving behind black tea, and green oolongs.

Kunpu shincha from Den's currently with DW. This is an outstanding asamushi from Shizuoka.
Re: Thursday TeaDay 7/23/09 New fave this year?
Fukamushi Sencha Supreme edged out last year's favorite Japanese green of Yutaka Midori. I only have one of the four packages from Yuuki-Cha opened, but the one that I do have opened, the Yuuki-Yutaka, is coming in close second.
Currently in my cup is cold brewed Apricot Green. I absolutely love this stuff as an iced tea.

No favourite yet. I've found a lot of good tea though, but not the tea to end all teas...er...um.
Don't know if my tea's to blame but I've been so wired today, not a good thing when I'm supposed to stay up all night

Yippie, I got to open a new bag of sencha! This one recommended by Pentox as one of my first from guess who. At $6.00 for 50 gr, it's certainly the cheapest sencha I have opened in a long time, maybe ever, "Sencha Nara" cause it's from Nara, Japan, of which Lupicia says "Tea produced in Nara ranges adjoining Uji, is similar to Uji tea but slightly thinner."
The taste is different from most that I have had. Opening the bag the aroma is of ice cream rich with eggs and vanilla. The first infusion was the most distinctive, grassy, umami, not as floral as some, very low astringency, milk taste.
I don't think I would want this to be my sencha every day, but it's a refreshing change.
