Dang! Vanishing posts and images! Here goes two more -- again!

TRANSFER WARE

The Currier and Ives came as special, either w/a gasoline purchase or groceries--I can't remember because I began collecting them over 50 years ago!! I have a collection of English transfer ware (not teapots) and just like the look. :)

I didn't have any pink, and I liked the shape of this one -- an impulse buy!

My two French teapots. Bought on online auctions when I was re-doing my kitchen with a French accent!

The larger teapot is interesting. It is ceramic with a chrome "cozy" that sits right down between the handle and spout. Keeps tea really warm. The cozy is lined with cork.

The small red teapot is metal and is one of my favorites because of its size. :) Some of my teapots are too large to use for just me.

Supposedly, both of these would probably date from the 1930s.

I really like the images on the top two, ArtMom. Especially the top one. Kind of goes with the Yankee Clipper theme, racing to bring new teas to the West!

One more image for today -- I'll have a couple more for tomorrow.

My last name is Cherry. I am always receiving gifts with cherries on them, in them, etc. I have many paintings, bowls, ceramics, kitchen towels, etc. with cherries on them, but these are the only two usable teapots I have so adorned. They were gifts. :D

Very nice artmom! I especially like the pansies! Beautiful shape, and on the others too.

I have had my eye on one of those insulated pots myself for sometime now, but honestly, I would probably not use it. But they are cool.

Victoria, love that figural teapot. :) And I love the little bud as the knob on my wedding teaset. I loved my aunt very much, and think of her everytime I use one of the cups -- which I use more than the teapot.

Chip, yes, I hadn't thought of the Yankee Clipper bringing the tea, but we used to make up stories about the different scenes on each of the particular pieces of the set.

Thanks for looking and commenting, Jo!

Geeber, I love the little Brown Betty teapots. They are just so friendly-looking!

Laura, I like the unusual white teapot, but that stainless steel one is so sleek and moderne' looking!

Debunix, isn't that little cherry teapot cheery!

I'm about to have a cup of my Marco Polo and rest up a bit.

This is probably my favorite of my ... I guess you would say "collectible" pots. It is gilded porcelain not metal. This, with the matching cream and sugar, is the center piece of my china hutch. Royal Worcester from the 50's.

+1 - my boyfriend even likes it! (He's picky about teapots)

Artmom - the metal French one reminds me of the one that my French host family used every morning - very nice, super-functional, and very well loved in that family! Because it was the "family morning teapot," it tended to get used for whatever blend of teas they had as their morning tea (can't remember offhand, but not unlike English Breakfast), and afternoon (or after dinner) tea tended to be in a nicer teapot reminiscent of your Prince Kensington, only a little taller and more slender.

Oolong this evening with dinner.

My "English" teapots have Chinese motifs or are just plain white pots. Nothing that interesting.

Victoria, most of my tea pots are cozy kitchen pots, used with just family in the morning or at "tea." When guests came, Mama had a silver set (not sterling, though).

My Mom had a silverplate set too. But she never drank or served tea. It just sat on the buffet table. I have one more of hers, my favorite, that I will post tomorrow. My Mom loved her coffee and she drank it in an oversize cup with a bowl-like saucer. She would overflow the cup and drink from the saucer as it was cooler that way. :)

My last tea of the day has been Adagio Maestro TKY, very nice!
