Saturday TeaDay 5/15/10 As the cup changes?

Cool topic!!!

I started the day with Tao of Tea's Neela in a jade colored FireKing cup. My grandparents had only odds and ends of mismatched dishes and my grandpa always had his morning coffee in a jade colored FireKing cup. For some reason I always loved the sound of the spoon against the cup as he stirred in a bit of sugar and milk. That sound seemed to symbolize that that sweet slice of summer that I got to spend at their house. Several years ago I bought 3 jade colored FireKing cups on ebay. When I drink from one, I always stir the tea a bit just to hear that sweet sound.

Right now I'm having a 2nd steep of the Neela in a handle-less mug I purchased on ebay. It is almost industrial looking and very heavy with deep big grooves for my fingers...it is cold here today and this mug is a great hand warmer.

Never thought of using the FireKing for tea. Thanks Dreamer, I will try it tomorrow morning. They are one of my all time flavor coffee cup

Again back to my korean porcelain cup this evening, the same one I used this morning, also for the same Yi Wu bamboo-aged sheng puerh. Midday, several cups of the tea from the thermos cup, while in the car between hikes.

Definitely nicer in the porcelain, but the scenery was better from the thermos cup!

Still drinking out of a mug for my second tea of the day, a pot of shoumei white. It's very light and flowery tasting. Mmm!

Oolong #8 (in a styrofoam cup) while enduring many stupid people at work (people, the restaurant is packed, there's only 3 servers, I'm running my butt all across the restaurant, and you don't even bother to tip me? seriously... you suck. I worked my butt off tonight for 5 hrs and made out with less than $50? Not cool.) Then out with a good friend for a couple beers (well, I had beer, she had wine).

Lots 'o glass today. I wish I varied it a bit to make me seem more interesting, but the husband and I got a wee bit too much into video games to concentrate on tea.

Several glass mugfulls of tea then some glass pilsener glasses of iced tea. Riveting, indeed.

Currently (10:00 AM Eastern USA) it is an American style mug I made in 2009, made of clay from Shigaraki, thrown and assembled at Kanayama, green-ware once fired for 3 days in a wood kiln that I designed and built at Kanayama back in 2006, using a youhen charcoal finishing process practiced in the town of Bizen.
