What 8) TeaChatters we have!

2nd FlushThurbo FTGFOP 1 CH SPL - Darjeeling from Lochan Teas was my choice for my sample today. Pleasant - definite "sweet corn" taste. Will enjoy occasionally. DH enjoyed it over ice (he doesn't do hot tea -- usually drinks Southern "sweet tea." He didn't need sugar in it. :)

Then, with brunch, I had a delicious cup of Lochan Teas Hattialli Golden Lion -- a 2nd flush assam that will certainly be one of my go-to teas -- it doesn't demand milk.

Not sure what qualifies as surprising. Some tidbits about me: among other things I have a law degree but I never practiced law. I don't like politics and I'm not very competitive by nature.
I've never worked for anyone other than myself.
And here's a real shocker: I don't like chai

Having Golden Curls and watching World Cup final right now.

Ha! Then you would love my position. I don't like politics but it is a necessary evil, especially when you have a powerful PAC. I frequently hob nob with the governor, congress and assembly people, right down to our local city council. Everyone wants our money and endorsement. We just tipped the county elections this past June with an endorsement withdraw. Still, I have to say, nowhere did I "sign up for this".

Does that make you one of those F.O.B.s? (Friends Of Bill)
You know what? I don't even have a come back for that. I will say he is very charming and charismatic. :)

Here is what you may not know about me... My husband and I found out not to long ago that we are going to be parents again!

We were shocked since this comes 3 1/2yrs after my daughter was born through IVF. This time it was natural and unplanned so wow were we surprised and of course happy. :D. Normally, if you get pregnant after IVF it is right away not this far after the fact. The doctor was shocked too and said it too was a rare situation. Must have been meant to be.

I have been trying to think of something to share with all of you, but being on the younger side of Forum members just out of college, I do not have a huge wealth of life experiences to pull on.

I have met and have a book signed by a Nobel Laureate in Physics, but that is not all that interesting as he is rather active among physics programs in the area I went to high school.

And something perhaps not all that impressive outside academia, but currently I am working with a professor on a paper we hope to submit to an academic journal to be published.

Congratulations!!!

As for me, I don't think I've shared this before, but... my college major, which I'm not currently using, is theatre arts - emphasis on technical production (i.e. stage management, lighting, sound, costumes, pretty much anything but acting). I'm trying to get involved locally, since I can't travel to do shows anymore (yay for having a full-time job, but it means I can't just pick up and leave for 6 weeks like I've done a couple times).

Also, I've played the piano since I was little, but currently have nowhere to practice, so I'm sure I'm very rusty! And I've spoken French since before I was taking piano lessons - my preschool taught it, then my elementary school taught it, and I just stuck with it all the way through college. Was 3 classes short of a French double major.

Also, just some Wuyi so far today, thinking about tea #2 though, and it just might be... Snowbud! Had Oolong #8 yesterday morning, then some Yunnan Noir, and some Hojicha with a couple Jasmine Pearls late last night. A pretty good tea-weekend!

Mathematics, more specifically Graph theory, even more specific Ramsey Theory. Though I hate to say I've done very little in the whole scope of the paper, I did come up with the main problem, and a few preliminary results, but the professor being a well professor, cleaned everything I did up so much its hardly recognizable as my own (though vastly improved), and has gone on to work on so much more completing probably five or six things for every one I complete. But still it is not bad for someone who just completed their bachelors and has yet to start Graduate work.

Enjoying reading all the posts as usual! Complete with a miracle, congratulations Rachel!

So, began the TD with breaking a Momiji Kyusu, well, technically Lili broke it. So, it will be repair time. Good news, it was not the body, bad news it was the handle ... broke off completely and is now 3 pieces.

Anyway, the tea was good. SweeTea was well behaved and rewarded with a tasting of Sae Midori from O-Cha.

Next up, Maeda-en 88 Nights.

Just got back from a long weekend away, whoo!

I'm not sure what I should share. I am about to enter my third year at Michigan State University. My major is finance, which is kind of the family business, both my father and grandfather have careers in the field.

Today I sampled more of the '09 Ma Hei Village Puerh from Yiwu. It's very aromatic, and really rather mellow. I guess this is the difference between small production & big factory Puerh.

Most likely making some Darjeeling soon, been craving it! :D

Also, congrats goes out to Rachel & Artmom!

Well, got some J-B Weld which was discussed in a Yixing topic. See what happens. I am planning on lashing the handle after it fully cures to reinforce it.

SweeTea has not broken any teaware and likes sencha ... pretty good Geisha cat!
