I assume the FM is their best-seller because it's cheap and people want only a basic tea for everyday drinking. I don't think the similarity is because the FM is great; neither one wowed me. It's probably more that I can't taste the difference due to inexperience. I haven't had much fancy sencha, so I ordered the Shin-ryoku specifically to see what I might be missing, or at least to try something different. So far it hasn't seemed very different, but maybe I'll change my mind after drinking more.
