UPDATE: BOTH vendors have complied with taking down the image, no questions asked.
Gordon has taken it a step farther, and deleted ALL images in the suspect listings, and replaced them with either stock or his own image, (which I really appreciate,) as well as sent a nice note of apology for using images without permission.
I think sometimes people don't think before they take. Or perhaps he has somebody helping with listings who took liberties? Either way, there were no excuses, just a straight up apology. Good for him.

Good for you Geek! I am so glad they have complied with your wishes, errrrr, demands.
Yes, sometimes people just don't think.

I don't think they're all gone. I just found out what poppets are, thanks to Pot In Pot.
I used to like DTH, but now I'm reluctant to buy from either of those stores: copyright issues aside, they don't seem to care whether the photos actually show the items they're selling.

There is one Pot in Pot listing, it's an auction listing, and Ebay won't let you change the listing once a bid has been placed. I know there's probably a work-around, but the other 5 listings have been changed, so I'm going to let this slide rather than get into a "thing."
I agree though, that listing images should be of the particular item being sold, or else state clearly that it is an example image, not of the actual product.

Well you could, but Gordon's a decent chap and if you can resolve something directly that's far better IMO.RaynBeatle wrote:Can't you report him or something on Ebay?

As far as preventing copying by using various methods such as "no right click allowed," I think most or all of them can be defeated. Often you just need to go to the file menu and save the "complete' webpage, which gives you a folder containing all of the elements in that page. Just manually extract the photo you want to save by removing it from the folder. Sometimes the photo can also be found in the temp internet folder, where it can be easily copied or moved.

Yes, that's true, which is why I've never done much of that. Right click is easily defeated in most cases. I've never wanted to resort to plastering great big watermarks across my images either, and in fact going thru my back catalog would be tedious, not to mention all of the broken links it would create.
Re: WTH Gordon: UPDATED
Or you can use the cache to find the file and then copy that out -- as long as it's on the web and not locked under password and what not, it's going to be defeated. If it shows on his screen, he'll find it somehow unless it's an ultra secure type of connection requiring all kinds of extra software.
