unfortunately, the owner's far from a master, and would rather let others be masters. just here to share and discuss.
Tead Off wrote:Kyarazen, is the flat bottomed pot marked with Fuji's stamp? Any lid mark?
this doesnt have a mark in the lid, but similar pots from this era either come un-marked or marked with shuiping in the lid.

That is what a real teamaster would reply. You are too modest. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise.

Heres a rare and nice set of 4 pots of the same seal type, courtesy of Biao Zhun Hu (標準壺) on Fb.

the owner of these pots had contributed significantly to the recent teapot book from wushing publications.

the Yixing Hui Meng Chen Seal is considered to be one of the earlier 6 character seals used, both before factory and during early 60s. To compile a set like this of the same seal is not an easy feat today. the concept of "wu xing" hu or five pots, came only in the 70s (no sixties Eunuch pot/Taijian Hu was sighted before).

in the sixties, there was mention of 四君子 pot, or 4 Scholar pots. However the 6 character seal Xishi is so incredibly rare, and it is more common to be able to get a 6/4 zhong guo yixing seal Xishi. In this set, the Bian Yuan takes the seat of the XiShi, and this bian yuan shape is also uncommon. This shape was most commonly seen during early ROC to 60s. There was sightings of a piece of 70s neizhiwaihong bian yuan, but not in large supply perhaps. hoping to get my grubby fingers on the 70s Bian Yuan or the ROC bian yuan if i get to sight it :P

you might be able to order it from a wushing distributor in the states?
its possibly to buy the book from Mr Lv directly, but the remittance fees and the postal costs (3kg/book?) may not be as economical as going through a distributor.

for the pot set it is also quite nice. 8 cup and 12 cup are made in the exact mold, person, seal of the 60s (using old stock yixing red clay), the firing they tried to push for the same type too but if i didnt remember wrongly they settled for dragon than the inverted kiln.

i see that you've the RF collections book too :) nice pots and especially the cups inside, but currently not my collection genre.
Hey Buddy!

You must have seen me tag RF with my copy of the book. You know who I am now. ;) Otherwise, yes, I've been focusing on learning more about Qing period pots. I picked up a large bodied lobed (chrysanthemum) teapot from Qianlong period and have been fascinated ever since.

Thanks for the heads up about the book. I will look more into it. Otherwise, it won't hurt to order it directly. Cheers!

Another F1 baby, not of the sp type; closer to the julunzhu shape, which I also like very much. Niangaotu too, but very well fired.

Thank you chrl42! You are right, I noticed that the pepper pot greatly enhances the aromatics of tgy and mi xiang oolong. :D

Don't have time for that now. But it is exactly the same 正華 seal
that can be seen in the pot of the link below:

http://www.dyee.org/bbs/thread-616791-1-1.html

No seal under the lid.
