Good shout BonBon, can't wait for my Shincha to arrive!BonBon wrote: And this morning I'm drinking some Yutaka Midori. I really love this stuff.
The weather is not horrible if you like snow, rain, ice, really cold temperatures, and cloudy days! I'm in upstate NY for college, and even though I love snow, the weather can definitely get very bad up here. Home for me is central NY, outside of Syracuse.vbguy772 wrote:Before that I spent 32 years living in beautiful upstate NY but left because of the horrible weather there.
This morning's tea is White Tip Oolong.
Are you a student? The reason I'll probably be in TX next year if because I believe I'm transferring from my school here to UT Austin!Aphroditea wrote:I had the same issue.....but, I think most non-Texans consider us to be SW, so that is what I picked.Sam. wrote:From Texas, which evidently counts as Southwest. I'm in Montreal for school but I'll be back in TX soon and probably be there next year as well.
In Austin to be specific(Which is really like the West Coast stuck in the middle of Texas)

Huh... these results are surprising. You always hear about how San Francisco and Portland are the big tea centers in the US, but there seem to be way more people from other areas, especially the NE.
Maybe all the west-coasters just haven't woken up yet.
Oh, and I'm from California, though I've been going to school in Tennessee.

So sorry for the loss RS! Maybe a cup of tea will help calm your nerves.RussianSoul wrote:I am in Midwest, Chicago.
Our chameleon Wrigley just died this morning, I am very upset. She was a cutest baby lizard.
Maybe I will have a cup of Ti Kaun Yin later. The Goddess of Mercy seems fitting the occasion.

The one great thing about NJ/NY...the BEST pizza and bagels in the USA!!
This morning, I have white monkey in my cup.
I live in South Jersey, but am going to college in upstate NY!
Also, am drinking blackberry flavored black tea, because I had a dream about it last night.
I'm in one of the coastal communities of New York, a brief train ride from Manhattan. Our claim to fame is that we enjoy the best of both worlds, big city and small village.
I enjoy the luxury of buying tea and teaware in person. It is a delight to go into a Japanese language bookstore and see several shelves of books on chanoyu.
This is a good TeaPlace to live.

So sorry about your loss, Russian Soul. It has certainly been a hard time for Tea Chatters of late...or maybe people are just feeling more comfortable sharing their current sorrows.
I hail from the northeastern US, more specifically New England. I grew up in Maine (in a part of the state that was an absolute tea desert....Still kind of is.) I've lived in Massachusetts for the past 16 years (college and beyond.) Happy to say that we're starting to get over the whole "Boston Tea Party" thing and are seeing an increased interest in tea.
Today I tried some Oolong #8. I kind of blew it though. It really just didn't come out as I'd expected - new tea for me. I might try again this afternoon. Then I'm thinking something green...
