I thought of it more as having to fight their way out, sort of like ITD is the Guantanamo of TeaChat. So far Tenuki is the only member who has survived.

If you leave ITD, you leave in a teabag. :|

Um, I'd like to be excused from diaper duty. We should leave that to Mom Mary. :)

I thought the meta-discussion was the diaper duty.

As I see it, the first question is whether we even want to pin ITD to a specific cause or design. If that's swings to the affirmative, then we need to ask what exactly that cause, end and purpose is.

So what have you ladies and gents? Do we need to push back the inevitable grind of atrophy, or is ITD better off with the erratic chatter that's come to define it in recent weeks? Personally, I'm game either way.

By the by, does anybody else like drinking staight gunpowder tea?
Point taken, Proinsias. What does anyone want ITD to be, if anything?

My two yen

by fencerdenoctum » Aug 1st, '08, 12:03

I enjoy ITD ever so much. I think I wouldn't even like tea as much as I do if weren't for you guys/gals. I see ITD as a group of tea enthusiasts that don't just drink the stuff, but attempt to spread the love as well as having our "intense" tea discussions. All of us (with the exception of the newer folks, Hi guys!) have said at one point or another (if I haven't gone mad) that tea isn't just a drink for us, its a journey (or something along those lines) of discovery that is both internal and external.

Case in point: I'll always have an extra cup around for a friend or someone who hasn't tried good tea before, but it wasn't until Wes, Alex, and others got me into matcha did I really look at tea from a personal perspective. I learned that I had to stop whatever it was that I was doing and focus on the tea, or not only would it taste awful (matcha clumps eww) I'd get that pang of guilt from knowing I could have made a better go at it.

I for one was ecstatic when Mary sent me the invite. I can only wonder what MY nomination thread was like, but while I enjoyed teachat, being asked to be in ITD kinda gave me that warm fuzzy, part of something bigger feeling.

How sweet, you big teddy bear! I think you may have cut through all the intellection down to the heart of the matter. Thanks!
