Yah, I way over purchased. But it was for a good cause.
Having Yutaka Midori after a grueling bike ride.

GREAT!!! I ride hopefully every other day. Get home, and drink sencha.BonBon wrote:Having Yutaka Midori after a grueling bike ride.
Is this Yutaka Midori from O-Cha?
Before I headed out on some errands this evening, I was realllllly needing tea. But could not justify rushing a reallllly good tea. I went with a guricha that I had abandoned once shincha arrived. I had one session of this left exactly. It was not ... inspiring. Not bad, but way past prime.
Just got back a little while ago and am sipping the King TKY from earlier, 4th steep. Like honey. WOW. I also have a later steep of that guricha, why do I torture myself. I just hate to waste tea.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!
I brought my second steep home with me of the TKY, I just couldn't leave it at work, and I got too busy to get to it this afternnoon. Tastes sweet and great, hope it doesn't keep me up tonight.

[quote="michaelskar"]having only recently gotten into tea, I suppose it is difficult to truly overpurchase (as I am trying things out right now).
I put myself in this catagory. I learned about Matcha reading here - bought some, found out I like it - and reading Salsero's post ( with beautiful picture)
I learned about green tea "dusted with Matcha", and ordered some this evening.
I do have a reason - it will be much easier for me to have a little Matcha at work if it's in the tea I bring with me.
I don't think that I have "over bought" - but I do think that the ability to point and click and buy something is maybe not necessary to the human race and could get a bit addictive itself. Like gambling or kleptomania. ( I've avoided those so far - )
With all these interesting leads to follow the one thing that has gotten an bit out of hand is my favorites list.

I've been surprisingly good with my tea purchases and don't feel that I over-purchased too much besides the bunch of sample tins that I got over-enthusiastic with when I realized I could buy loose tea online. I definitely have a larger tea stash now since all my bagged teas are replaced by tins of loose tea. Somehow, I've managed to justify the increasing tea collection by cutting down on other beverages, like soda and coffee, but there is probably a bit of denial mixed in here somewhere.
My teas today were a blend of Orange Blossom Oolong with Oolong #8 and then some Hashiri Shincha.

Wow, still some Hashiri Shincha out there!Cinnamon Kitty wrote: Somehow, I've managed to justify the increasing tea collection by cutting down on other beverages, like soda and coffee, but there is probably a bit of denial mixed in here somewhere.

I still have some shincha in the TeaFridge, unopened. If anything, I purchased more and a wider variety of Shincha this year. But it is dwindling.
I got my Hashiri from the nice offer from inspectoring and waited until late June to open it. It is getting close to the end of the bag, but it does still exist!Chip wrote:Wow, still some Hashiri Shincha out there!Cinnamon Kitty wrote: Somehow, I've managed to justify the increasing tea collection by cutting down on other beverages, like soda and coffee, but there is probably a bit of denial mixed in here somewhere.
