what's that one that looks something like a hookah pipe?omegapd wrote: It's quite easy to do.Here's some of my favorites. It's about 1/2 the collection. I had about 400 or so at last count and hadn't counted in a couple of years- but hadn't bought many more either.
About 10 or so. They're some of my favorites too. To keep up with my theme for today, here's a meerschaum Holmes and Watson boxed set.henley wrote: Do you have any Meerschaum pipes? I always liked those the best.
Thanks for letting me share. Now we all need to see Henley's collection of English tea pots since that's on topic for today.

Omegapd: Dude, you're smokin'! Nice collection.
Henley: Lucky you, we have the longest two weeks of the year to wait before school starts on 8-20. We might just have to go to the State Fair tomorrow.
Geekgirl: New Century Tea Gallery. Wow, that looked like an awesome time. The most exotic place we have in Indy is "Nicks Chili Parlor", Skyline Chili, and a hoard of Frozen Custard stands. And our guv'ner needs a task force to figure out why Hoosiers are so fat, duh.
The upside of being unemployed this week: Finished another project:

My teaware is a hodge-podge for sure. I am not faithful to any of them! Sometimes English, sometimes gong fu, probably doing both wrong! I also have a dirty Rot breew basket somewhere. . .

That's what it is. You fill up the brass base with water, put the tobacco in the top and smoke. I've smoked it once or twice but it's a conversation piece more than anything. You need special shisha tobacco and charcoal thingies to keep it lit and I don't like all the bubbling sounds.doyoulovedee wrote:

Nice collection Omegapd, but you better start drinking more green tea!augie wrote: My teaware is a hodge-podge for sure. I am not faithful to any of them! Sometimes English, sometimes gong fu, probably doing both wrong! I also have a dirty Rot breew basket somewhere. . .

Nice project, Augie!
I have a few of the old RoT infusers, the nylon or whatever they are made of. I must have used then 1000's of times. I only recently started to feel weird about using them due to all the concerns over hot water and plastics, etc. They work great, and I can't throw them away.

I moved on to SSP, sencha super premo. I have maybe one session left, and of course I really just nailed the parameters today.

My afternoon tea here at work -
again the Bird Pick Fragrant Oolong.
I am determined to finish the bag.
Enjoying it along the way of course!

Augie - Great sewing project! My sewing abilities are limited to reattaching buttons so I always admire people who have that talent.
Currently drinking Spiced Green that Elchai sent me & it's more a yellow color despite being a green tea. This one is pretty good, especially to be green.
Omegapd - My dad had a hookah, too, but I don't remember ever seeing him use it. Like you, it was more of a collector's item. Nice collection & cool meerschaum pieces. Unless the camera is playing tricks, looks like you've used Holmes but never Watson. I'll have to dig out my dad's meerschaums next time I visit my mom. Glad you could share w/us.

...or just MORE...Victoria wrote:Well! I guess I need more girly teaware.

A thunderstorm has canceled my eveing bike ride.

However, I am thoroughly enjoying a Lishan oolong given to me by a kind Taiwan vendor at the Expo. She said it was her everyday oolong.

I brew English style sometimes, primarily first thing in the morning so I can have a large mug of tea to take to work with me. I only have one piece of English Bone China, but supposedly, my grandmother has every plan on giving me her collection since I am her only granddaughter. That will be fun in a few years. I don't even have a good English style teapot, though that will be remedied in a few days when my order from Enjoying Tea arrives with a 17oz glass teapot. My Bone China cup gets used for whatever tea I feel like drinking out it. It is one of three cups that I tend to cycle through using not counting my travel mug. The other two are a blue mug and the little green cup in my avatar. The little green cup probably gets used the most.
Today started with Organic Monk's Blend and is now a nice, peachy Dan Cong thanks to Russian Soul.
Augie: I like your project! It makes me want to start my next sewing project sooner than the weekend.

Only one pipe out of the 400+ is still unsmoked and that's an antique meerschaum of Kaiser Wilhelm. It's one of my favorite pieces and I don't want to mess up the pure white color. Watson has been smoked but not a whole lot- Holmes quite a bit more.henley wrote: looks like you've used Holmes but never Watson. I'll have to dig out my dad's meerschaums next time I visit my mom. I knew your English tea collection would be worth it. Keep up the good work. I hope you have some for sale in your antique shop when I come up and visit.
