Welcome to Puerh! First of all if that avatar is a teapot. . . SWEET! The MengHai should be good, most ripes are, as you are not tasting the subtlety of sheng you are more looking for a flavorful smooth tea, which most shu I've had even cheap ones posses. I am more towards sheng so I couldn't really tell you if its a good cake or not. But I hope it is a good one, enjoy! To upload pics you need to join photobucket (free). You upload the pictures from your computer to the site. they will provide you with different addresses. copy past the IMG code into the forum and your done.soapy wrote:I', kinda new to pu erh so I don't have nearly enough to take photos of......

The little tuos look especially interesting to me. About a year and a half ago I bought a very similar looking container of tuo cha from China Gifts on ebay and like them very much. They brew up strong, thick and without off flavors. The wrappers are different though. These are plain white paper and the ones I have are yellow/gold paper with the chinese "cha" character. China Gifts no longer carries anything that looks exactly the same and with non-brand generic items you are buying a pig in a poke.soapy wrote:I', kinda new to pu erh so I don't have nearly enough to take photos of......

Here are my spent leaves from the 339. I thought about getting a cake based on the sample, but the one session I brewed with it I felt it got too weak in its later infusions. Mmm, maybe I need to revisit that decision. I plan on placing an order at Pu shop soon anyway...

At last, I got a chance to photograph my pu fambly.
Here is the pumidor, sheng on top, shu on the bottom... You can sorta see the little black hygrometer on top of a stack, and one of the bowls with a sponge in it on the top level. (The others are obscured by pu.)

And here is most of the sheng:

And here is most of the shu:

And there is no more on the way! Not for a little while.
