I voted Greek even though there aren't any Greek places near me. If it were a choice of what's local, I'd say "other" to choose Mexican.
Today I had Irish Breakfast but am getting ready for iced Ceylon/Assam combo.

Funny you should say that, Chip. Whenever I take leftover stuff and make anything "goulash-y" my husband calls it Klingon food, yet still eats it.And what about Klingon??????? Twisted Evil

Being of Mexican descent, I grew up eating Mexican food all of my life, so I really do not find it all that fascinating. Nothing in my opinion can match the spices and the general oomph that Indian food can deliever!

(not me though, I voted Japanese)
Ah, another herbivore tea-lover!Beidao wrote:Swedish food, not so muchGuess Nordic food (and German) is not that vegetarian-friendly...
Hard to pick. I love Japanese, Indian, and Spanish/South American spices and flavors in their vegetarian incarnations.
I eat lots of rice, miso, udon noodles, soy sauce, hot sauce, beans, tofu, tempeh, curry, lentils, pasta, tomatoes, good bread, olive oil... and I love to cook when I have time- this is making me hungry!

I answered "other" because I just couldn't choose! One of my favorite things about traveling is the opportunity to try ethnic foods I can't find locally. Of course I love Italian... like Mexican, Indian, German, Thai... I would probably like good authentic fresh Chinese not loaded with grease and MSG (but that doesn't exist around here)... LOVE japanese (sushi)... and am eager to try any and all I haven't already tried.
I respectfully submit that "Southern American" should have its own classification... fried chicken, mashed potatoes, southern-style green beans pressure-cooked with smoked pork jowl, corn bread, turnip greens, smoked pulled pork with homemade barbeque sauce, cole slaw, fried catfish and hushpuppies, chicken and dumplings, meatloaf, corn on the cob, fried green tomatoes, and... peach cobbler with homemade vanilla ice cream for dessert.
Who's coming to my house for dinner?
Nice tea day so far... some Upton's Darjeeling this morning... some of my homemade powdered sencha, first hot and thick, and then the rest iced (made from the last crumbs of my yutaka midori and some fuka supreme blended) some adagio Oolong #18 this afternoon... and who knows what will be next.

And Cajun, too! Cajun is way up there for me. I make a kickin' jambalaya.
Ultimately, I predictably went with Japanese foods.
I had a Hawaiian steamed green from Victoria earlier, very different from Japanese steamed greens in every respect. Then some Sencha Kunpu light steamed. I am really craving another green tea.

blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!
It's going to have to be Thai, since I grew up eating mainly Thai dishes in our household. I actually just finished cooking up a few fav Thai dishes that my mum taught me (tom yum goong, ground chicken w/ Thai basil, and yam nua).
My 2nd would have to be Japanese.
On this rainy evening, downing some jasmine oolong.

Ok, my tea photos for the day!

Breakfast cuppa (Twinings loose English Breakfast), with oatmeal cookies (one for me, one for my little girl).

The steeped leaves of my chocolate peppermint tea (the almost black beverage on the right) that I got when I was out for tea with friends today. It was delicious!

One of my friends is of Chinese and Irish descent, so when he said that he wasn't going to be adventurous and just get an oolong, I said that oolong is adventurous for lots of people! He said that it was either that, or the Irish breakfast, and then we decided to ask if the tea place could mix both for him. And they did. And it was actually pretty good!
