Yeah, I would not expect it to be like a 50 USD gyokuro, but am hoping it will be a worthy everyday gyokuro that I personally have yet to find. The price point is very appealing. The fact it is from Yame and O-Cha has me very optomistic.

I would expect some adjusting in brewing would be required, Olivier. Please let us know how it goes! Thanx.
I sure will let you know.
I will open the Chiran sencha tomorrow or saturday I guess.

Now some Darjeeling Namring SFTGFOP1

Great! I will await your report on both!

Forgot to answer the question of the day. I have very limited to no exposure to any of the "teas" in question. I had Yerbe in a blend once many years ago, can't really say how I feel about it one way or another. Rooibos I need to try soon, but have not yet. Herbals, my lack of craving is partly due to lack of exposure.

Can I just plead ignorance? :D

Adagio Darjeeling earlier, and just finishing Yutaka Midori O-Cha, shincha. I am thinking of a Gyokuro next.

I really like ginger tea made with real fresh ginger. Add some honey, fresh squeezed lemon, and a dash of cayenne and you have a drink of the gods!!!
I've also had a couple of caffeine free chai blends that are pretty good although they only tasted good when doctored up with LOTS of milk/soy and honey. As a result, it is a beverage I only enjoy semi annually.

Drinking some nice organic sencha powder tea. Extra strong!

I love some of my flavored rooiboses and keep a good collection of herbals on hand for tisane blending, but I dislike plain rooibos and yerbe mate. They are not something I crave though I often end up drinking at least one cup of something not caffeinated almost every night.

I'm on my second rooibos of the day. I had some Blood Orange Rooibos during class, which prompted me to make Blueberry Rooibos when I got back to my dorm. I wasn't in the mood for mint, so I am hoping that the rooiboses help calm my sinuses down.

In my cup at work today -

New Century Tea Gallery - Competition Grade TGY

Average, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Sal, I love that little set. Your pic is sooooo much better than the vendor picture. LOL! Still, you should have bought the celadon one so I could see what it looked like. Hmmph.

Beidao: nice white on white on tea. :)

The poll: while I do occasionally drink non-tea "teas," I don't crave them. I'll drink Moroccan Mint sometimes, but that is real tea with mint... rooibos- well, I like it mixed up with something else, I guess, but it's not something I choose, and I don't have any around here. Hibiscus, yum. And you can't beat that ginger/lemon/honey combo for upset tummy. I'm not a hater though.

Today has been a day for greens. Started with my matcha, of course. I'm getting so proud of myself because the foam is getting finer and finer. Someday it will just look like heavy cream on the top of my matcha. See here. Today's "tea" photo is the ubiquitous "tine shot":

Cool photo, Geek! A different perspective can reveal art! This reminds me of a passion flower. Passiflora ... shoot, I forget which species right this second.

I also have the celadon Hankook travel set, it is my fav of the 4 I got. It has very subtle crackle glazing. I think it is the smallest of the 4 I got.

Hummm me thinks if a couple of Adagio employees (who shall remain nameless) were not drinking up all the AliShan, there might be some for us west coasters!

Nic pic Geek! At first glance, I thought it was a lovely flower!

The rooiboses seemed to have helped some or at least enough to make things a little more bearable when they decide to mow the lawns on campus. I remember reading a few articles that stated that rooibos has antihistamine properties, though I don't know how reliable the sources are. Even if it doesn't have antihistamine properties, it helps cut congestion and is a better alternative to taking benadryl, which knocks me out.

I definitely enjoy rooibos, honeybush, various herbals, and even roasted yerba mate -- but I just think of them as delicious hot beverages, not tea replacements. Don't crave them, though.

Lovin' the celadon piece, Sal. And that's an amazing shot, Geek.

Need more tea so I can pretend I'm not getting sick.

1. Very nice foam on that matcha :)

2. I love your "tine shot". Am a little envious actually ... all the times I've photographed whisks, and I'd never thought of that angle. Very effective! And it really makes obvious the subtle beauty of the whisk.
