LOL, I see most of you are rebelling against the question, a sure sign of spending a lot on tea and denial.
I would say close to a thousand. Japanese tea is not really so expensive, unless you start getting into premo gyokuro and matcha. Plus 5 steeps. And smaller steeps help as well. I just finally ordered the new Chiran YM and the Yame Gyokuro from O-Cha. Both seem to be EXCELLENT VALUES.
A good TeaDay so far. Adagio Nepal FF which is a nice change of pace from the Chinese blacks of late. Just finished Yutaka Midori.
Now, about to brew the new Adagio Ali Shan that just arrived an hour or so ago.

blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

I do not recall hearing your impression of this one yet? I thought it had a slight toasty/grainy charaqcter this year, like a faint toasted barley background. I think it is quite different from last year. I think it goes through an added step in processing, which would explain why it is offered so late as shincha.
I didn't had miyabi as shincha last year, so no basis for comparison. Nice aroma, grassy. If I had to order only 3 shincha next year, I guess Kirameki, Ippodo and Miyabi show the best diversity of asamushi sencha.

I agree, small quantity and 5 steeps help, except for koicha...

Is it time to go home yet? I really really need some tea to calm down and have nothing here with me.
If I commit homicide because of the new secretary, will someone send me tea packages while I'm in jail?

Drinking bai hao yinzhen. First made some cups with western style, now trying gaiwan. Never been drinking this tea before - special feeling!
Earlier had Gui Hua and Jade Oolong. And some green rooibos.

Of course! Don't you worry bout that. Problem, I don't think you will be allowed to drink anything else than Earl grey in bags, cause real tea do look very suspicius.

Oh no! No loose, only bagged?
Well, that just decides it. There's no way I can let them catch me.

Probably somewhere in the $400-499 range for me. It seems like a lot (poor student here!), but it's not bad considering that I don't drink much besides water, tea, and the occasional soda. Now, my book habit, on the other hand...
It's probably a good thing I'm content with the cheaper grades of my favorite teas, because I'm not sure I could afford to support my habit otherwise! I just sneak in small amounts of the good stuff sometimes.

I'll probably end up in the $500-599 range by the end of the year. I totaled up what I had purchased and it ended up a little over $400 so far, but I have at least two more orders planned from now until December. I know I need to make one Adagio order when a few more of the out of stock teas come in and one order of some sort of Japanese green tea. This is not counting if I purchase anything tomorrow when we explore Ottawa and I drag my boyfriend into whatever tea shops I can find.
Currently, I am enjoying a blend of fresh ginger with peppermint, lemongrass, and honey because I couldn't resist a really nice looking piece of ginger at the store.

No tea budget here. But if I had to have one, I'd easily be in the $500 + range.
Yunnan Gold this morning, a lot of to-dos and then a had a little Golden Spring (coming soon) with a moon cake. Yum!

It's time to go home if you're gonna kill someone. How could you not have tea at work! Work time is always tea time!
My tea budget is well.. High. It comes in surges so it's hard to say what I'm gonna average for the year. I probably have enough tea to last me the rest of the year, but knowing me i'll probably still buy some more.
I actually did a purge of a lot of my opened teas yesterday and gave them away to friends. Now I just need to get more tins to open more teas since i have a lot of 100g packs now to open.

Prison tea is worse than Lipton

Not that I would have personal knowledge of this.
Ali Shan, the new one from Adagio. Just finished 3 steeps and will come back to it this evening. It is very nice with honey, molassis, spicy sweet notes.
Now then, likely back to Japanese tea for now.

Golden Spring is a black tea, in fact there are several new ones listed as coming soon! "A delicate black tea from Fujian Province harvested early in the Spring."
Wow, the Yunnan Noir sounds really interesting too!!
