I'm drinking a cup of Yunnan Jig...trying to finsh off the never ending samples before placing a new order.
I would definately participate in a group tasting. I'm new to the world of tea and curious if I have the same opinion about a tea than a "seasoned" tea drinker. I know what I like and what I don't but is it possible that my palette isn't as skillful about detecting certain charateristics? I wonder if I've been overlooking an aspect that I might not readily recognize. hum...

I'm really interested in doing so, especially since it would give me the opportunity to reach out to the physical tea community in where I live. If there are any teachatters in the Washington DC area, give a shout-out!
Enjoying some 90s Mu Zha Si Ji Oolong from Hou De. Very fruity. I can almost taste the plums. Still trying to get the brewing parameters just right.

Depends on the motivation and resources of the "host." It could be free, the actual cost of the tea divided amoung participants, a group simply taking turns hosting, or it can be done for profit (or fundraising).kongni wrote:Generally, how much do tea tastings cost?
There are other factors as well. So, there is no set costs for tastings.
Very soon, w/out saying too much, there will be a TeaChat tasting program open to all TeaChatters, hopefully beginning in October some time. Like I said, keep your eyes open for news. It will be a very exciting program, I promise you!
Currently, sencha Kunpu in my cup. An asamushi, light steamed.

It would be awesome of if TeaChat had a group tasting program. It's not exactly a group tasting but I am a reviewer for Teaviews. We all eventually get the same samples so it sort of works out in the same way. I love seeing what other people thought of a tea I've tried. No tea for me yet today. I think I'll go make some now

Oooh! Sounds intriguing! I'll be watching for more newsChip wrote:

I'm trying to guage amount versus price if I were to go with individual tins! I've been told that sometimes the samplers aren't as diverse as listed at adagio. Any thoughts?Pentox wrote:Adagio sampler tins are filled by volume not by weight. They're always full, so because of that the weight varies on each very significantly.
The sampler sets tend to be rather close in price to individual sampler tins, so if they're all something you want to try then you should probably go for them, but if they contain stuff you don't want and you know you don't want it, probably better to get individual tins of what you do what.BrandedInMT wrote:I'm trying to guage amount versus price if I were to go with individual tins! auggy, perhaps you should try wearing one of "no tea no work" tees (see here: http://moodsandappetites.com )Victoria wrote:.auggy wrote: Looking at my day, I feel like I'm drowning. Drinking Earl Grey right now that makes me feel really good at the moment.

Hehe - I like those! Though I worry what "tea" gifts I would receive as an inducement to keep working. One of the earlier offerings from our youth pastor was Crystal Light's blueberry white tea.jazz88 wrote:auggy, perhaps you should try wearing one of "no tea no work" tees (see here: http://moodsandappetites.com )![]()

He did really good Tuesday, though. Ito-en's Jasmine green. Apparently they sell it at Target. Who knew?
