Well the asamushi/fukamushi poll was answered by many, so I wouldn't be surprised if many of us know what a yusamashi is.

Darjeeling Namring SFTGFOP1 just after dinner.

I have a wee Hokujo kyusu that I love, but I'm contemplating buying a massive 20 oz. kyusu to use at work (I make tea for all of us in the office and feel like I'm committing a tea sin every time I put sencha into a little infuser basket).

Right now, I have a cup of Alishan oolong on my desk...

There's no suffix for plurals in Japanese, so it's 1 kyuusu, 5 kyuusu. But sometimes I cheat and add an -s in English so as not to confuse people ("I have an embarrassing number of chawan-s").
Kyuusu-tachi :D

P.S. I should have said, no simple suffix for plural common nouns. (-tachi is used for pronouns, as Buzz knows.) There is a complex system of number words, or "counters", which may make your brian explode

Awh and here I thought it would be funny if we could start calling multiple kyusu kyusi.

I just tried Adagio vanilla for the first time. Hate it.

In other news, my mom and sister have offered to contribute to next week's Adagio order. I keep bringing teas over on our Friday evening get-togethers, and they feel like they should chip in. Rock! More tea for me! I'm getting lots of sample tins, because it's so much fun to try new things. (I'm buying bigger tins of my favorites, though.) Them chipping in means I can get more samples, which will make everyone happy.

Now we just need another tea set for my sister's house, as I'm taking my wedding set home to use with my husband. I'll hit the Asian general store next weekend.

Right now I'm drinking Adagio oriental spice. Good stuff. I'm feeling very chatty -- too much caffeine, probably. :)

Such a latinist!

Enjoying some 2 year tree Wenshan Baozhong from Teamasters. Funny, haven't heard Teamasters mentioned here as of late. This leaf is so light, I had to fill the gaiwan. Even then, had to gently crumple the leaf a bit to get the lid on. But the results are better than my last attempt. Very nice.

Wow, Victoria, that's a beautiful set. Arita ware, I assume? Where did you find it? Va-va-voom!
Actually Olivier saw it first on rikyucha, but was wavering and I snapped it up!
With his blessing ... I think. :)

Just one simple Tokoname for me. I am considering getting another one without a 'swing'style strainer for just fukamushi.

Yunnan Imperial and Yutaka Midori for me so far today, about to have Emperor Long Jing for the first time. :D

I have one Kyusu:

Perfect for one good sized cup of sencha goodness. Also handles fukamushi with no problems.

Just finished a pot of mid afternoon Kukicha which I brewed in my glass teapot.

That site is incredibly dangerous. I am in the process of ordering this little beauty that I completely fell in love with the first time I saw it. So soon I will be the proud owner of two kyusu.

Today has been a slow Tea Day with only a blend of Assam, cinnamon, and ginger so far. I was attempting a pseudo-chai blend and it came out decent, but not as spicy as I had hoped.

I vaguely remember smoking something out of one of those, CK. :P

Hmm, I ordered a new kyuusu just last night -- not knowing today was International Kyuusu Day. :o

Victoria: That's a sharp set you have there! 8)
