[quote="SmariIt's true that we will all die, but on my part, I'd like to live a little longer to see more of this world [/quote]

Yup; that's my feeling;

I was anorectic when I was a teenager - and got over it by getting really interested in cooking - cooking and eating things that were healthy - (vs advertised as). In the bad old days I lived on cigarettes and diet soda! AARGH ! This is true and I still can't believe it.

My mom was a health nut so I came by that honestly. I grew up baking wheat germ brownies (- and then refusing to eat them. )

Dok - Congratulations on your weight loss - I wish you continued sucess.

Thank you, everybody. It nice to share this little celebration with you all, so I'm quite enjoying Adagio's Mandarin Green this morning as I've stopped here more today than usual.

Yes, we all die, and while this side of eternity is short (don't worry, I'm not getting into that discussion on this site :) ), my quality of life was making it more and more difficult to enjoy everything (work, friends, my own home, the outdoors, etc.). I'm not planning to stop losing now, but even if I did, life is far better. <raises flowery teacup>

The toughest thing for me to resist is cookies with tea! Especially stroopwaffles. Oh! Stroopwaffles with some good fukamushi or black tea is HEAVEN :D

Having some keemun now. Good ol' bancha next :D
haha me too! Keemun now with our neighbor's apple pie. Pie is delicious but a bit on the sweet side. But my black tea makes me feel healthier. Keemun is so great with modest amount of dessert :D

i'm kinda a health nut, not that i ever meant to be this way. i don't eat meat or fast food. i drink maybe once or twice a month and get at least 8 hours of sleep a day. my meals include lots of veggies, fruits, and whole grains and because i'm a vegetarian i ensure that my meals are properly balanced so that i get appropriate amounts of vitamins and minerals. also, i exercise everyday and try to get out hiking at least twice a week until it gets really cold.

today i'm drinking matcha.

In my cup this morning a nice limited edition Bohea black.

Looking forward to a little gardening today but I must run to the nursery first.
Need a couple of pots to repot a few things and pick up some seed cups to start my
tea seeds! Yay!

Have a nice day everyone!

In fact, I am happy when I am running. I just don't run too fast.

I just rescued a stray kitty w/ the loveliest jade green eyes and what better inspiration than that to go GREEN! Her name will be Sencha :D
Although Mordor, my very large and right now unhappy MaineCoon is not as pleased as me..but he will adjust as men usually do.

Ditto on wanting to live longer and enjoy, why not try to live healthier?

Have a FAB TeaDay!

Chip, thanks for the help, but I still need to work on that quote thing! S

Not a health nut, but I try to eat healthy foods most of the time.

Congrats, DoK on your weight loss! That's awesome!

This morning I had Assam Melody. I forgot my tea bottle so here at work have Diet Pepsi, a POOR substitute for tea!

I'm about average when it comes to being healthy. I used to eat a lot unhealthier and didn't work out. Changed that recently, changed my diet and started working out again. Biggest difference is switching candy with fruit and vegetables and soda with tea/water. But I'm not any fanatic about health, there is a time for everything.

Had Matcha Kaoru Supreme before my workout session and Sencha Yutaka Midori when coming home. Matcha before training was really nice, freshing me up.

DoK, you are definitely an inspiration in your commitment to make yourself feel better and be healthier. Fantastic.

I said that I'm not a health nut. My commitment to exercise has been seriously lacking since #2 arrived last year. I do, however, make sure we all eat pretty well here. I love that my 3 1/2 year old asked if he could have a treat for doing a good job with his lunch. I asked what he wanted and he said, "Applesauce!" I definitely indulge in sweets or other unhealthy foods occasionally, but I've sworn off fast food, drink soda about 4 times a year, and try to make small decisions (like only buying whole wheat breads and crackers) that make differences over time.

That being said, I really don't pay much attention to the health benefits of drinking tea. I drink it because I love it. There is so much buzz about the health side but I haven't really taken the time to review any of the research.

1st flush Darjeeling this morning.

Oh no my dear, not you!
I meant olivierco - he is very subtle with his zingers
Just letting him know I didn't miss it.

Sencha is a great name, especially for a green eyed cat!
Congrats on you new baby.
