Happy Anniversay Ew!! Did you get my anniversary gift?
The very special roses?
-I know I shouldn't have-
Shouldn't have sent pu for two.
LOL, sorry I'm cracking myself up!!
For me today I'm on my second steep of Frozen Sumit Oolong from ToT,
after having to be up and at a meeting at 8:00 this morning! Who sets meetings for 8:00 on Saturday!!! At least they fed us, and I knew enough to bring my own tea.
Hope you all have a nice Saturday!

Good tea all day. After the morning green, Adagio GM, a nice asamushi sencha, Adagio Alishan, and maybe another one this evening.
Speaking of Alishan, I was compiling Alishan nominations earlier for TC/TCR, looks like there are 10 nominations. I should have a vote topic up within the next 24 hours or so.
I am already thinking, what will be next for TCR, a black, green or a white?

Drax - Oh my gosh, your meals today sound delish!
Only 1 tea for me today: Adagio's Gyokuro, and I added a scoop of Rosebuds. Neither one alone thrill me, but together and steeped in water that's just warm, yum. It works for me hot or on ice.

I sipped iced strawberry black all afternoon, and I'm sharing a pot of Ceylon Sonata with my guy right now. He really likes it plain. I want to use it to blend with the flavored teas in the box from kymidwife, because most of them are far too strongly flavored for me to drink unmixed.
My mom, sis and I were going to do tea at Sis' today, but when I got there Sis wanted coffee and Mom's doc has told her to avoid caffeine while she's sick. Thankfully I had my big travel mug of iced tea! Never leave home without it.

Definitely a passion for me... and a hobby.. and THE beverage. But passion is not too strong a word. My day doesn't feel complete without teachat time... I wake up thinking about what kind of tea to have before work... I find any work day is better when there's time for tea-drinking... and I put the kettle on as soon as I get home, and enjoy my evening tea more than any other. I research vendors, hunt for teaware, and think about tea many times throughout the day. Yes, passion is a good word.
So yesterday I visited a small tea room in Paducah, KY. The setting was really nice, the tea was just mediocre (not bad, just not amazing), and they had a nice array of tea accessories including a few yixing pots.. .the smallest one came home with me!
In my mailbox today came 2 Ebay packages... one with a yixing and one with my first gaiwan!
I've already used all 3 pieces, and am excited to experiment with them. The gaiwan is going to take some practice, I spilled alittle on the first try. I used it for a song jang white tea, and it came out very nice. I'll photograph the new pieces soon and post them for you all to see.
In my cup now... some 2 yr bao zhong from Teamasters, mmmm. And i had some darjeeling risheehat ff this morning... some song jang... some wuyi ensemble... and oh yes, i had some pi lo chun too. Was a nice tea day... yes, passion is a good word.

SLT to finish my TeaDay. Maybe some Mugicha from Sarah shortly, I need something "Asian" to drink. Might try roasting some of my own tomorrow!
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!
I'm curious which level of roast you are liking best. I bought s'more barley so I could roast my own again... but am going to try to do it alittle slower so it will get a more even color before I get on the verge of scorching it. I am still stunned at how many full-flavored infusions are possible with the mugicha... it just lasts and lasts! I have some lower-end sencha I haven't opened yet, and if it's not great, I am thinking of blending it with mugicha for a variation on the genmaicha concept.Chip wrote:Maybe some Mugicha from Sarah shortly, I need something "Asian" to drink. I agree, it just doesn't quit. One session lasted almost 3 days, seriously. The high roast that you bought was a little too roasted for me, the aroma in my cup reminded me of coffee, even after 5 steeps or more, but the flavor was remarkably sweet despite this. I am now trying your home roasts.kymidwife wrote:I'm curious which level of roast you are liking best. Definitely blendable IMHO. I will be doing the same, thinking also matcha, kukicha as possible blenders to go with it.

Why limit it to those 3? Even though they are not from the tea leaf, are there not a lot of choices in the herbal teas?Chip wrote:Rainy TeaDay, but good tea all day. After the morning green, Adagio GM, a nice asamushi sencha, Adagio Alishan, and maybe another one this evening.

Thanks for your input! I am not saying we will never go the herbal route, however, we are looking towards areas of most interest. The forum is definitely biased towards true teas. The tastings will likely reflect this.Vulture wrote:Why limit it to those 3? Tea started off as just a beverage but has quickly become a major passion for me. I love the ceremony of it and the opportunities for learning about other cultures. My family and friends think I am insane for it but I always tell them, I could have much worse poisons than tea. Teaware has become the latest offshoot of that passion. I just received my first pair of rice pattern cups off of ebay last night. I cannot wait to use them later today. Pictures will definately be in the works.
