A cold sunny day with snow fallen during the precedent night is quite my favorite weather.
Karigane sencha this afternoon.

That puts some perspective into things. Makes me feel bad complaining about the cold.murrius wrote:I live in Canada so I am more inclined to daydream about the sun and warmth.
I never complain about heat, I purposely decided not to a few years ago. Cold is painful, extreme heat is just uncomfortable to me. I would likely run to where it is sunny and warm. But the change in season is nice, I could just live w/o the Winter. Perhaps we should have a HomeSwap program.

Started the day with Gyokuro Yame. I need to finish this soon so I can open another Japanese green. Sweetie took her normal position and enjoyed. Wulong was just a nuisance climbing all over me.
Next, Fujian Baroque from Adagio. And now some Organic Sencha from Japan's land down under, Kagoshima.

Great shot, B! Is that a LZN pot at the end of the SX rainbow? Have you tried lightly roasting the SX? (... only advised if the leaf is somewhat short of perfect)brandon wrote:![]()
Thanks for the kind words for my Tasting Sets 101.geeber1 wrote: Brandon, your photo was lovely also. I really like the perspective of the way the cups lead up to the pot, as well as the zen quality of the whole photo.
I think you have hit the nail on the head here about Brandon's photo. Hope we see more of his in future days.
Isn't shu supposed to cure the Hangover? … and everything else too, I think.Proinsias wrote: my hangover is showing no signs of receding.
This is one of the strangest statements I have encountered on TeaChat so far. Sounds like you might need to join Proinsias in the Shu Cure.Chip wrote: Wulong was just a nuisance climbing all over me.

To the sun! No snow shoveling for me.

I had to look it up on Google, so no.auggy wrote: Are you near Vogel at all?

If it is, that's about where I'd want to go. My folks live in Blue Ridge, about a 30 minute drive or so from Blairsville- so you almost hit the exact spot! That's a good 4 hour trip from my house down at the bottom of the state.
Our MIA friend Henley is close to that area too.

Yep - that's it. It is gorgeous there. My parents spent their honeymoon there way back when so it is a special place for them. I just like it because of how lovely the area is.omegapd wrote:I had to look it up on Google, so no.auggy wrote: Are you near Vogel at all?The only hits that came back was a Vogel State Park in Blairsville, GA. That's gotta be what you mean.

Me too drinking shui xian!brandon wrote:Drinking Shui Xian, 2005.
'Tis the season for Yancha.

But your shui xian looks better than mine!
And I agree shui xian is perfect for this season. I feel warmed up from throat to belly!
As for winter escape, normally I will go to a warm place. But this winter I think I will stay where I am.
I had my best huang shan mao feng this morning and my least expensive shui xian this afternoon

Chip, Wulong sounds like my Dahlia. She's always all over me. I love it most of the time, but every so often I'd like to, say, drink a cup of tea without her tail getting near it. Or use my laptop without having her draped across one shoulder. Still. I always wanted a lap kitty, and boy did I get one.
I hate Florida summers, but I think I'd hate winters up north even more. Ideally I'd like to live in the Pacific Northwest, because the weather's relatively mild and not blistering hot nine months a year. I can handle cold and rain; what I can't deal with are blizzards. I grew up in Indiana, had I had enough of that there.
I just finished off some handmade Glendale Nilgiri. Nice stuff. I was about to drink the last cup in the pot when my guy asked for tea, so I gave it to him. I'm nice that way -- sometimes. Heh. I'd do a second infusion but Mom's picking me up shortly to go grocery shopping. The second will have to wait until I get home.
Oh, and you guys take gorgeous pictures. I agree with whomever said Sal should do a calendar or a book. His pictures always make me feel peaceful. Well, peaceful and thirsty.
Sal, do you have original files in lots of megapixels? I'd love to frame prints of a few of your photos for my kitchen when I move in January...

I'll look around and pick a few. It's going to be hard just to choose three or four... Hmmm. Maybe I should ask you for pictures of specific teas, since you seem to have photographed nearly every leaf in existence...Salsero wrote:Yes, I have lotsa-pixel original files and am happy to sent them to anyone interested.
