BYOT! Enter TeaChat here, you never know what you may find!

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic was suggested by my sencha arch rival ;), Pentox, who wondered, "has being in TC changed your preferred vendor? ... has anyone come into TC and then changed their vendor of choice?"

This nub has been buying local teas before Vulture introduced him to Adagio and the forum. Vulture is an uber l33t haxor that beats me a lot in games. I mean he is so cool and stuff!

in my cup - the blood of the innocent

And no this isn't vulture using his friends account because he forgot to not 'auto-sign in' on the forum while using his laptop...

My not-so-great morning tea at home is now followed by some not-so-great
tea at work. My first try from Silver Leaf Tea - Darjeeling Oolong.
Life is too short for bad tea!!
Grrrrrrrrrrrr!!

Voted "no" because Adagio remains my vendor of choice. Through TC I've learned of other vendors and do order from a few of them, but the bulk of my tea comes from our host.

This morning had my first cup of Adagio's new Golden Spring. What a good way to start the day, and with chocolately notes, too. I'm already looking foward to re-steeping it tonight.
At work I've been drinking from a new order of Irish Breakfast - smooth and energizing at the same time.

Not really too much for me, I had made the change right before coming to TC. I dumped my regular vendors who were really letting me down, and went international. After TC, I added Adagio and am always "listening." But for the most part, I was satisfied with the changes I had made already.

Started the day with Yame Gyokuro from O-Cha along with the normal players. And now just finished Adagio's Gyokuro. This is a study in contrasts. The Adagio version is better approached very casually for me.

I went with other since the only vendor that I order from before TeaChat was Adagio. My teas before that were either grocery store teabags or loose tea from when I found a tea shop while traveling. I still order from Adagio, but I have picked up other vendors to get tea from as well.

I started today with some Scottish breakfast tea (thanks caligatia!), which tasted really good with a splash of almond milk. I then moved on to some Malaysian Highlands black tea for during class and am now enjoying Glendale Nilgiri Handmade. For some reason, the Nilgiri came out very peach-citrus tasting in the first steep today. I'm quite happy with it, but I am not sure what I did to bring out the fruity flavor.

Same here.

Still not thinking terribly highly of this stuff though.

I have to say no. Adagio is my main vendor. I have also bought from Tao of Tea, Golden Moon, Rishi and Dragon Water.

I'm more influenced by how well the vendor's website is made. Even if the product is probably good but the website annoys me that vendor will not have my money

Anyway, just had Rose tea from Golden Moon and will brew some Sencha Premier from Adagio shortly.

I think TC has been invaluable in expanding my list of potential vendors. I was/continue to be primarily fond of Upton, but I have expanded into O-Cha and Rishi as well. As my current supply of tea dwindles, I will most likely expand out further based on TC suggestions.

Today I had a Castleton FTGFOP1 2nd Flush. It was typical of a Darjeeling flavor pattern...muscatel and some currant, but it made those typical overtones shine through in a wonderfully unique way.

Finally some good tea!! TeaSource Sweet Flower Oolong, although I may not re-order, it has been a dependable go-to oolong. A nice smooth cup, when nothing else is hitting the spot.

I can't necessarily say that my vendor of choice has changed. I'm still very much a fan of my local tea shop. Their selection is incredible and the owner is always very eager to help me pick out teas and share her knowledge. I just love going there.

But I don't just buy my teas there, I buy them online as well. And when it comes to online vendors, I definitely think that TeaChat has affected the stores I buy from. I don't have an online vendor that I'm loyal to yet, but I value the feedback that others here on the site can provide, and they have a great amount of influence over where I buy my tea or tea accessories.

So I voted 'Maybe'.

In my cup is some Chocolate Honeybush. It's really only the second time I've had this particular cup, and I don't think I steeped it long enough the first time, because it was pretty weak. So here's round two!

My vendor list has DEFinitely expanded since getting involved at TeaChat. Thanks everyone for the great reviews and info!

Shincha today. Just one or two cups because I'm fasting today :D

Happy tea day everyone!

It's 10pm and I'm just now having my first cup of tea since noon. And the infusion's too weak! (It was the leftover leaves from this morning, and had already been brewed a few times.) I need fresh strong tea. Ten hours without is about nine hours too long. :)

Not to rub it in Caligatia, Recently started a session of Adagio Silver Needles, really nice, fruity with a hint of spice that I have been trying to put my finger on for weeks.

And now Mugicha, home fired, really cheap and really good.

I still have a few steeps of Silver Needle to look forward to.

Just another great TeaDay!

Adagio is my base, I judge each type of tea from this selection. Tea Chat has given me many sources to compare with. jim

I am sipping on a nice cup of warm sencha.....It actually snowed a little bit here in Williamsburg today and I think it is litearally in the 20's outside right now....very good night for a warm cup! It feels like time is going by so slowly waiting from my order from artisticnippon.com in Japan....I have a new 5oz kyusu coming along with a new yunomi and 3 teas picked out for me by the owner.....a pinnacle grade sencha, a karigane, and some awacha. I will post pics as soon as I get them!
