Thank you to all the b'day well-wishers yesterday. Reading those this afternoon made my day.
Not much of a teaware snob, except perhaps when it comes to heating the water in the microwave. But that really comes from my overall aversion to microwave cooking.
This morning's tea was a b'day gift from boss: Numi's Raspberry Darjeeling. Sounds promising, but the maker couldn't leave well enough alone - it also has hisbiscus and rosehips in it <blech>. Even put some on ice with stevia, but can't say that I'm really enjoying it yet.
Just finished a cup of Pumpkin Spice, especially good on a chilly day.
"Top off the tea... it lubricates the grey matter."

WAH! I am not having a great tea day. I dropped a potato, not even a big potato, on my perfect teapot and the bloody handle broke off, leaving holes in the side. I've had this thing nearly 25 years. It's been bounced off the desk and onto the carpet, been kicked over by Lard A$$ (almost 30 pounds of really clumsy cat), accidentally heated to 350 F in the oven and has always produced a wonderful tea. It was one of the first things I learned how to hold when I recovered from neurological damage and no matter what, it was always possible to lift and pour.
And it was PINK! You know how bloody hard it was to find a pink teapot, a square, pink, 2 cup teapot that long ago?
*banging my head on the monitor*
Guess I'll go moo goo gai pan some Irish Breakfast Blend in my old McCormick teapot. grumble.
Jeanne - I never met a tea pot I didn't like.

Done in by a potato. Surely there must be some honorable way to send off a cherished tea pot...?
My condolences, treazure!

I'm a huge teaware snob at least as far as functionality goes. If someone is about to put good tea into a large pot and not pay much attention to it then I will happily push them aside and scour their kitchen for an impromptu gong fu set.

I would certainly call myself a teware snob.....especially for the amount of money I have spent on kyusus for my japanese greens as well as for yunomi's.....I really can tell the difference between using my sencha kyusu and then if I brewed the same sencha in a gaiwan...........Anyway, I am drinking a premium sencha right now and enjoying every last drop!

Checking in late here! My last tea of the day was from an eBay vendor zen8tea from Taiwan that just arrived today.
Peach Fragrant Green Tea - Taiwan Sijichun Oolong
To me it tasted like milk oolong. I didn't get much peach.
I ordered 3 others so we'll see how those are.

Treazure, I feel your pain.
For what it's worth, I found this on eBay. It's 4" x 4.5" square:
Fitz & Floyd Pink Purple Square Giftbox NIB Mini TEAPOT
The same seller has a
"miniature teapot" which is pinker, less expensive and, presumably, smaller... but that listing doesn't mention the dimensions.
Was your pink teapot SOLID pink, or patterned, or...?

Treazure, despite the color

sorry to hear about a sad ending for very special teapot, done in by Mr. Potatohead. Thanks for sharing its long story with us. But despite your physical problems, you managed to use it for such a long time.
BTW, this fits in well with Sunday's poll/topic.

blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!
