I'd have to say no, because the only tea-related gift I've ever received was a set of two sipping cups. They're lovely cups that currently live at the office. In fact, I'm drinking out of one of them right now! But with Christmas fast approaching, we'll see if I get any more tea gifts.

In my cup right now is a second infusion of one of my favourites: Lychee Jasmine Green! Sweet, floral and fruity! Yum!
I believe drinking tea makes me a better artist. But hey, I also believe I'm completely sane.

I've graciously accepted weird boxes of tea (hello everyone, I loathe spearmint, ok?), and then simply contributed the boxes to the employee coffee bar at work. Someone will eventually drink it, steal it, or trash it.
Although my neighbors are all barbarians,
And you, you are a thousand miles away,
There are always two cups on my table.

Tea nirvana this morning... first my matcha (it's almost gone, need to get that Ippodo order in quick!) then some sencha (Hatsumi,) now it's on to some CHAI (to take with me in my $tarbuck$ go-cup.

Yesterday's subject got me scheming about Xmas, and then somebody had to go post that link to the hojotea banko kyusu. (*shakes fist*) and I WANTZZZ! But what I really "need" is a chakoboshi. Yeah, I have the teatable, but it seems kind of strange to just dump a tablespoon or so of gone-cold sencha on the table. (thinks up more reasons to buy tea-things I "need")

Maybe. I do know my wife was asking about a red mug/warmer combo that we never use -- I think it'll be regifted soon!

Started the day with white (Pai Mu Tan) all morning and now working on mugs of spiced chai!

I don't think I've regifted a tea item but I wouldn't rule it out in the future if it seemed to be a better fit for someone I know.

Fukamushi this AM followed by bai hao oolong with lunch.

Happy tea day everyone!!!! :D I gotta get back to work

The only tea-related gift anyone's ever given me is a gift certificate, and you can't go wrong with those! I've given away stuff I bought for myself that I ended up not liking or using, but not as actual gifts.

Currently, I'm enjoying the beginning of my two and a half month break between semesters. I still have to get in some research and foreign language study, but not on a deadline!

Irish Breakfast this morning, and am on the second steep of Wuyi Amber right now.

I have plenty of tea, some of them gifts, that I should redistribute. I don't pass them off as gifts, and the receiver knows that they're just benefiting from my fastidium.

I might pass on teaware in a similar way, if I upgrade.

Speaking of fastidiousness, being busy today I'm casually enjoying shu: CNNP 2000 brick.

In my cup this afternoon, something very new and different for me -
Rishi Organic Acient Snow Sprout Green Tea.

The smell of the dry leaf is amazing, bringing to mind dried fruits. The feel of the dry leaf is amazing too. Fluffy and with velvety soft fuzz like peachskin. I went too short on the first steep, not reading that the recommendation was EIGHT minutes!! At three minutes it was delicate and sweet, like a white tea. At six minutes the fruitiness is more complex. This is really a beautiful tea, I will enjoy having again and working on the brewing technique.

Sorry, Sarah, you can’t expect everything in a single tea.
If you're lucky, you'll find a cigarette butt!

I've never been given tea as a gift -- only from me to me. I would try it, no matter how vile, if it came from someone I loved . . . then I'd take it to work and put it with the other crap lipton tea on the shelf. :D

I regifted a teapot once. It was a smallish stainless steel pot with a mesh infuser. It was a fine pot for an occasional tea drinker, but not useful to me at all, as I already posessed a small (and growing) family of pots. I gave it to my brother with a really nice selection of loose-leaf teas.
I've also been given bad tea that I just threw away, but I always taste it first!

Just finished up the last of the Adagio White Symphony - a very nice white.
Not sure if I will reorder I have alot of teas and I don't seem to get to the whites very often.

And ummm remember yesterday's TD response? " My plan is no more teaware and no new tea until the Spring '09 oolongs arrive. "

I didn't count on a 20% off and free shipping over $35 sale at TeaGschwendner.
Not one of my favorite vendors, but their teaware is awesome!!!
I was a bad girl. Maybe that should be a New Year's resolution???

So I get a phone call from my mother saying that a large white box arrived for me today. Expecting that it is an online Christmas order that I made and had sent home, I asked her to open it for me. It turned out to be tea! The original box pass is now safely at my house, though I won't be home to play with it until the 13th. My mother thought it was great and was having fun exploring it for me. She was trying to figure out why there was a cookie wrapped in a piece of paper with funny Chinese lettering on it...

In reflecting over the topic throughout the day ... if I can improve another's enjoyment of tea by offering them a tea I would rather not drink, and it would just sit around for a decade, I feel why not. The tea they regularly enjoy might be Lipton, and anything given to them would be an improvement.

I had good TeaDay so far. The Sencha Premium this morning was very good, I swear I picked up a faint but pleasing cinnamon nuance to it.

An O-Cha teabag was really good around mid day. Then Chiran YM, well still enjoying that one.

I voted "maybe" simply because while I haven't gotten a bad tea gift yet, I wouldn't have a problem giving it to someone else that I thought might like it, though I wouldn't make it an official "gift", just something I give them for no reason other than thinking they would enjoy it.

And those of you that don't like spearmint, feel free to send it my way. It's the only mint I do like! (Unless there is a wintergreen mint tea? That'd rock!)

I would say it has been a busy day and that's prevented me from getting on today, but sadly, that would be a lie. I was listening to an audio book almost all day (in between brief moments of work) and I can't read and listen - it makes my brain want to melt - so I put TC off until my book was done. Good book, but it was hard to stay away!

Just got home from a massive grocery trip and must decide what tea to have. I'm thinking pi lo chun simply because someone has to drink it and I'm pretty sure the kitties would make a mess if they tried it.
