Yes, I'm a bit late with the Christmas spirit this year! I think it was caused by snow overload!

I recieved a tin of Silver Needle a few weeks ago as an early gift, but nothing tea-related since.

I had Lipton for the first time today. It's all my grandparents keep around. "Tea? Sure, we've got tea!"

LOL! That's the equivalent of receiving a Minutesteak when asking for steak.

Merry Christmas.

This photo is a year old, actually :) but I think it might have been Kinrin by Marukyu-Koyamaen.

I was busy all day...Santa mode in the a.m., then working on the ham and such for Christmas dinner, then over to the in-laws for the "gathererin".

Got a gift card to Bed, Bath & Beyond...so a brand spanking new electric kettle may be in my future.

Had one cup of chai in mid-afternoon.

All in all a very merry Christmas in our house.

Got a great large thermal mug (stainless steel!) to put a lot more tea in for my morning commute. Also got a thick glass Bodum teapot which hopefully will not break with the same alarming frequency that my previous thin glass tea pots have done.

Had a large pot of blended sencha this morning as soon as I opened my eyes. Darjeeling this evening.

Merry Christmas fellow travelers in tea!

I lucked out on tea stuff for Christmas. My fiance listened when I told him that I wanted tea for Christmas and gave me a bag of Yutaka Midori from O-cha and more Chestnut tea from Adagio. It was my first time trying the YM. Absolutely fantastic tea, well-balanced between sweet and tart with a good, but not overpowering grassy taste and lasted 6 infusions. I can definitely see why so many people love this tea.

My parents gave me the rice porcelain gaiwans that I wanted. They are roughly 5oz, so slightly bigger than my glass gaiwan, but are made of a heavier porcelain so they work great for the dark roasted oolongs that I enjoy.

The real surprise was what I got from my grandmother. She gave me her fifteen sets of Engish Bone China cup and saucers that she had collected throughout the years. Grandma had been trying to figure out who to give her collection to, so when Mom mentioned to her that I was looking at the bone China cups, she decided to give them all to me. I am still in shock over it. Each cup is unique and beautiful and the history behind them makes it an absolutely awesome gift. I feel very honored that she gave them all to me.

It has been a fun day. I got to try the YM and I tested out my gaiwan with some Aged Nan Tou. I will post pictures of all the cups eventually.

Happy Holidays, TeaChat!

Merry Christmas all!! I received a fun item called "The teastick*, from my dear daughter. Seems super simple & makes one cup. Just fill with tea, slide the mesh cover over your tea and steep right in the cup. Anyone familiar with it?
Have a wonderful day!

Merry Christmas!!!

I am new to tea chat. I recently discovered adagio teas in the last month and a half or so. Since then I have been on the site and looking at the tea chat almost everyday. I figured today was my day to join tea chat!!
I've always liked tea but in the last 6 months or so started drinking loose tea. It's my new passion and what a tasty one (if I do say so myself).
This post struck a cord for me! My DH bought me a zarafina tea maker for Christmas. The Linens and Things is closing down by us and when he went shopping everything was 50% of or more. He got me this love gift thinking oh she might like it. Well let me tell you I am so overjoyed about it! This makes my new life of loose tea so much more exciting.
I hope everyone is having a safe and Happy Holiday season and has their cup filled with something delightful!
Today I've had a very smooth cup of Coconut Crash Chai and awaiting my evening cup of Lemongrass both from our dear friends at adagio.

Quite a few tea related gifts this year. In fact, I could have made tea from scratch only by using my presents. I got a kettle boiler, a teapot, a mug, two types of tea and a book on tea.

I "received" pretty many TeaGifts this year, and I helped the process along.

Of course, if you are around here long enough, you already know I love Momiji (Japanese Maple) and teaware, this picture fails to do this kyusu justice.

Received 2 TeaScents for men that are very different from each other and very nice. Some other teaware which I will share soon. Adagio teas, GraviTea, O-Cha tea and a kyusu, Japanese Green Tea Shop, Zencha, Den's, and a bunch of Japanese canisters.

TeaDay, after a great start, some so so sencha while I was away.

Really nice Chip, congrats!

I ended the evening giving a little tea lesson to family with a Japanese teapot that looked more Chinese, and a brew of Nilgiri Neela. Everyone liked it so I guess it was a happy ending.
