On the other hand, maybe I need to move in with olivierco so I can have access to his tea pantry!
Well, if you can afford the airplane ticket I will be happy to share some teas with you.

4$ or 5$ a day isn't what I call a huge amount of money. Smokers spend often twice as much everyday.

Kaboku sencha this afternoon. (ca 1.30$)

I put less than $300 but I have no idea. I buy as I want (what I spend on tea pales in comparison to what my husband spends on his hobbies- scuba and photography) but my aversion to ordering online and the lack of tea stores here keep my purchases under control. Now, if I do open a tea shop then my budget will go WAY up.

Got a big cup o' Earl Grey Creme this morning. I had a bout of insomnia last night and Earl Grey always helps me get going. Just a bit of sugar in it.

From the AP:
"LOS ANGELES - Southern California simmered in record January heat again Thursday.

Downtown Los Angeles hit 85, one degree above the old 1976 mark and 17 degrees above normal for the date.

Similar temperatures have been common all week as a Santa Ana condition has dominated the region."

Come on over, we can make iced tea and go to the beach.

I budget my bills, and guestimmate my weekly expenditures but tea normally comse out of the "fun funds" I have beyond that. If I run low, I buy more, if I'm out of my favorite, I buy more.. if I don't quite have the funds, then I adjust the budget as needed to squeeze it in!
+1 Though I am guessing around 600. My teaware buying has slowed dramatically, so that helps, though I do have one pot from AN that I am looking at.

I figure I spend about 30-50 a month. Tea really is a budget luxury.

Shincha will have its own, special budget.

I said less then $300, however I'm not so sure. I only truly started buying loose tea in November online and already spent over $120. So I think it might land up being more.
This morning I had my first taste of snowbud from adagio. Very light and smooth. I had been awaiting a delayed Christmas present that just came yesterday. I can't wait to try all my new samples tins!

In my work cup is a new TeaSpring black I just received - Sichuan Gongfu - which is Keemun blended with Yunnan Gold. I'm not sure yet how I feel about this blend, I think I may prefer them separate.

Oh yes! We've had some almost-record highs here last month, but this month has been way too cold. It's 27 out side and I'm near a drafty window so my hands a little blocks of ice. I could use some beach time!

I agree - and I will use that argument to justify increasing my tea spending! :)

No budget for tea, I never consider that. I'll probably be way off the $300 dollar mark that I picked anyway. I purchase tea as I want, which changes constantly.

Of course you can. We were in the 80's earlier this week.

Today's cup: More Ippodo Hosen. Wonderful stuff.

I have a budget $4oo or less. I am easily pleased since my favorites are Black teas. Mostly Irish Breakfast, Assams, some Yunnans and recently Mambo. I drink about six cups of tea a day and I get two infusions out of most teas.

My tea consumption might go up in the summer when I start making iced tea in larger quantities though.

Really nice Hokujo piece, Space! Attractive, contrasting striations and really nice rounded shape. And no "dent" like many of his works, what is up with that anyway? I can not figure out what purpose it serves.

I would say we are pretty similar "budget wise." including Shincha. Last year, I answered this question quite high because it was during Shincha which confused my thinking at the time. Shincha should have its own budget.

Enjoying good tea today so far. Started the TeaDay with Den's Zuiko asamushi. SweeTea would not be denied a fair share, while Gandalf, Pyrit and Wulong were just there to watch me brew.

Next I opened a bag of Tenho fukamushi from JGTS, I will need to use more leaf next time, but still good, but I know I did not nail the first try.

Currently, Adagio Alishan and enjoying it very much, thank you!

 Next up, Chiran Supreme from O-Cha, I think.
