An impossible to answer question. I don't plan or track tea purchases at all, I buy what and when I feel like buying.

Two to three is a pretty solid guess for me. Ali Shan this afternoon. Everyone have a great day.

Structured spontaneity? :D

Fukamushi Maki from Den's is deliciously and currently in my cup. I am about ready for

I'd say I might only try another couple of vendors this year.

Now drinking: some Sencha Hatsumi.

I just recieved Ocha's new Surugawase.

6.5 grams/7-8 oz/170F/1.5 min: Not pleased with this first round. It is very light and mild yet...sort of tart. Will play with it more today and post later.

I just googled Surugawese (to see if anyone else has reviewed this) and I got an interesting hit. It seems that some Japanese tea leaves are know to inhibit symptoms of hay fever. Some of the varieties that exhibit this property are surugawese, yutakamidori, ...

Here is the URL to this reference:

Have any of you heard if the teas made with these leaves inhibit hay fever?

I thought I would share this with you all.

Space, just under 1 gram per ounce of water, in this case 6 grams per 200 ml. 160* with preheating. Playing with times, but under a minute.

Had a weird tea at a Japanese/Chinese restuarant. Dog Long, it sure seemed like shu pu-erh, very dark, earthy. It was interesting tea. They served it in 10-12 ounce Christmas coffee mug with Santa on it (Ummm, they own a dollar store next door  ). But the sashimi and sushi were very good.

Through the afternoon enjoyed several steeps of Huang Guan Yin, one of my favorites.

Since I've only ordered from a few retailers online I'm assuming that a lot of my later purchases will be made from new vendors.

Miyabi in my cup tonight. Definitely not as good as the ym (especially in the later steeps) but still excellent in it's own regard.

The leaves are very pretty, but just look at that light, so stark and artificial, there's no warmth or soul in that picture.

I've heard that Rooibos has antihistamine properties but I've never done long term testing on it myself. I really should considering I am allergic to anything that is a mammal and I work in a pet store. :P

TeaGshwendner North India Manjhee Valley 1st Flush is in my cup today. It's odd but in a good way. I always try a ton of new vendors, but that is mostly thanks to teaviews. I'll probably buy from 2-3 new vendors though.
