I haven't tasted it, so I am curious to have your impression on it (and on Sencha Suragawase of course)Chip wrote: I think Organic Yame Matcha from TJGTS.

I'm curious too -- I bought the two levels around it (price-wise), so definitely wonder if it's "in the middle"olivierco wrote:I haven't tasted it, so I am curious to have your impression on it (and on Sencha Suragawase of course)Chip wrote: I think Organic Yame Matcha from TJGTS.

I made a larger batch of matcha ice cream. Woooo!! Wow, this is incredibly good. I imagine that's a great way to use dying matcha, too...

This is 20 USD organic matcha for 40 grams. It does not pretend to be 50 USD matcha, but is a very good value IMHO. It does have an astringent bite, but it is balanced.Drax wrote:I'm curious too -- I bought the two levels around it (price-wise), so definitely wonder if it's "in the middle"olivierco wrote:I haven't tasted it, so I am curious to have your impression on it (and on Sencha Suragawase of course)Chip wrote: I think Organic Yame Matcha from TJGTS.

Yes, Drax, using matcha in cooking/food (and with other Japanese teas hot or cold) is a great way to use up aging gyokuro. It imparts tea flavor to food better than any other tea I think.
Speaking of which, I had this Yame matcha earlier. SweeTea did not mind the astringency.
Then I had a rather anon gyokuro I received from Sal today. This is THE sweetest gyokuro I have ever had. Instead of "precious dew" I am calling this leaf Mountain Dew. Seriously and naturally sweet, and very very good.

Occasionally I have a "tea themed" desktop background....I usually swap between tea and the ocean for my backgrounds....right now I am attempting my own version of making a Hagi-looking bamboo tea table. I found this type of glue called gorilla glue, which I have used before but I found some that dries in white...in my experience it always foams up and drys with some odd shaped air pockets, etc. so I went and cut some bamboo from a bamboo patch near my house and am attempting to make a tea table/tray with it...I will post pics regardless of how it turns out!
*Also currently enjoying a cup of sencha karigane.....trying to use the last of it up before some gyokuro karigane comes in from Hibiki-an!
