Tazao green ginger got me hooked.
I'm a loose leafer now tho.

Suggestion for future poll: Do you travel with your own tea, and or
bring with when dinning out?

I had a friend who always brought his own stemware for wine.
I thought he was a snob.
Now I bring my own tea when dinning out.
Who's snobby now??
“Take some more tea,” the March Hare said to Alice, very earnestly.
“I’ve had nothing yet,” Alice replied in an offended tone: “so I ca’n’t take more.”
“You mean you ca’n’t take less,” said the Hatter: “it’s very easy to take more than nothing.”

This morning some Lupicia Four Seasons Mengjian. Pretty good stuff, although I wish I had more of the Mt. Tayu stuff.

In my cup this morning 1997 Long Juan Hong Xin TGY
from the Jing Tea Shop Anxi Tasting set.
This oolong is the bomb.

Rare for me to really go crazy for an aged oolong but
I have a real fondness for Long Juan area teas.

Delish!

As Victoria mentioned, companies that use the silken, pyramid bags put quality whole leaf tea inside of them (Adagio, Harney, Foojoy, ...). They are expensive, usually around $1USD per bag, but they're a welcome alternative to `no tea' or `coffee' or `mediocre cups of tea from roadside vendors'. So I agree that they are a good compromise between self-brewed whole leaf and convenience.

The only bagged oolong I have had is Adagio's Wuyi. I never brew it at home, but I always travel with it and always keep some at the office.

BTW, I never squeeze the bag but my mother always does, I think she likes the extra bite that it gives her tea.

Chip already did these and I believe so pretty recently.
Check the TeaDay threads for these topics, sorry I gotta run and don't have time to do it for ya!

I luv Adagio bags, I agree w/all the comments about them. I have not tried Den's or O-Cha's yet, they probably rock too 8)

Fuka in my cup, more later.
Have a FAB TeaDay all :)

I should have broken this topic down a bit more ...
brlarson wrote:I have a question for you folks: do you squeeze the bag when you remove it from the cup???

I recently purposely sampled O-Cha's Uji Sencha Teabags, 5 grams of good leaf per bag. These are simply the best I have ever had, period. I take them to restuarants mostly, because I still need a reason to use a bag. I usually do 2 hot steeps then throw it in my ice water for a good cold 3rd steep. For this steep I will squeeze the bag w/o ill effect.

Otherwise, I have not purposely set out to try any other teabags in almost 10 years, but somehow I always come into possession of them. Adagio had a boat load leftover from the Expo and I snatched a bunch, very good! It is unfair to compare them to "teabags."

Started the day with Adagio Sencha Premier, semi English style brewed. Very nice! SweeTea demanded a fair share, Pyrit just wanted belly rubs tabletop.

I suppose when I was a kid I liked Celestial Seasonings "Sleepy Time"....my grandma used to always make it for me when I was sick or before bed....so I suppose maybe half of it was that I liked it and the other half was that I liked her making it for me.......havent had a cup of it in years though....

*Right now, drinking a cold brewed sencha

This morning's tea was plain old Orange Spice, but I'm tempted to try the Jasmine Pearls Tea that adagio has - I haven't them yet...anyone here given them a whirl?

I sometimes still turn to teabags for convenience when traveling or making iced tea.

In my cup this afternoon, some roasty Anxi TGY from Red Blossom.

I was referring to the Jasmine Pearl bags from Adagio in my post actually. They are very good for the Jasmine tea lover.

BTW, Claris, welcome to TeaChat and TeaDay!

Currently wrapping up a nice session of Gyokuro Kame from O-Cha, simply devine gyokuro.
