My home office is my little sanctuary, although it's looking pretty trashed at the moment. I have a photo project going on, I've been scanning and cleaning up a lot of old family photos. Next up is the digital negative project. Will it never end?

Still, I have my tea table set up on a drawer unit, next to my window. It's a little tidy spot in the midst of herculean projects that involve mess and paper and more mess and more paper.

This morning, I'm enjoying some of my Christmas Fukamushi. This is, of course, the first steep.

One more (couldn't resist.)

Image

This cup isn't the thinnest porcelain, not even close, but it has a very high degree of translucence, which makes it seem to glow in sunlight. What a visual treat!

There is a beautiful glow!! :)

Now some of adagios' darjeeling #2 at work after a very fun and successful field trip to the Batimore Aquarium. The kiddos have gone home and I'm leaving as soon as the tea is enjoyed.

Wow it's like christmas in Feb here. I just got my o-cha, chado tea house, and some samples in the mail.

The hohin from o-cha is a little grayer / greener than I thought it would be. I was somewhat hoping for a purer white hue. But nonetheless I'm excited to give it a try.

My living room, dining room and kitchen are all connected so I make my tea in the kitchen and drink it in the living room since that is where I have been keeping my laptop and doing my online classes lately. If I ever clean and reorganize my room, I will drink tea in there.

Well since my gaiwan lost in the gaiwan competition, I guess it
won't be considered campaigning if I post a pic of it today.

I wanted to show off the new chataku I got in a swap from
Amanita Eater - Thank you, I love it!! Acording to Lisa it is
Paulownia, aka 'Kiri' wood. It is so very lightweight! Such an
interesting texture and color!

ALSO!!! I wanted to post my new cups that came today!

I ordered them from eBay Tea Emporium, hoping they would match,
but they matched better than expected!

In my gaiwan a Dancong oolong from Jing Tea Shop.

I'm one of the few tied to the kitchen, so I brew my teas in the kitchen and drink them at the coffee table (err tea table  ) in the living room, where my laptop is. :D

Lately I've been on my laptop a lot so it's nice to bring my tea wherever I need to work! Generally it's either in the living room or downstairs at my desk! Today I have been enjoying some Yunnan Jig! It was a nice way to get the day started!

If you hadn't mentioned anything I would have assumed they came with the gaiwan.
