This is not about tea, tea is an extra but background music of the movie.
It's watchable Japanese family comedy with obscene(?) humor.
I enjoyed it a lot, reminded me of Napoleon Dynamite meet Little Miss Sunshine..

As I am thinking more and more about this, my ears always perk up and I focus more whenever I sense tea coming into a movie or TV, etc. And if it appears that something teaware along the lines of Asian is about to make a cameo ... I get pretty excited.
Happy Birthday Victoria!
Interesting idea, Shelob regarding birthdays, something that will likely fall under the TeaHouse subforum ... gotta get moving on that.

My favorite tea scenes are the times tea is mentioned in crime and punishment, especially near the end when Raskolnikov and Svidrigailov are having tea together while they converse. Brilliant storytelling.

When I think of Tea Scenes it is too hard to choose! I guess movies in general come to mind - the first one, the beautiful
Snow Falling on Cedars. I also think of
Shogun and of course
Memoirs of a Geisha.
How about
Karate Kid 2?

Happy Birthday Victoria
The Karate Kid 2 or 3 when he goes to Okinawa. The kid and his new girlfriend go through the tea ceremony. I think Mr. Miyage drinks tea in all the Karate Kid movies so there all great.
This ones kinda funny. In the show
Futurama(this episode was on 2 nights ago) When Lela gets Kip(yes kip is a male) pregnant they have to go to his spawning pond on his home planet Amphibioses. During the birthing ritual Kip has to drink some special tea from a large urn. The funny part that no one else notices, except tea nerds is theres a little teabag hanging out the side of the urn

haha special ceremony tea from a teabag only futurama would add such funny details.

Happy Birthday Victoria

Brad, you beat me to it! I was going to say Karate Kid, too, haha! What kind of tea is that in the movie? I've been drinking green tea since I was 6 or so. LOVE green tea. Right now I'm drinking Jasmine #12 while I procrastinate my studying.
