Maybe 15 seconds on a slow day. You can also switch from C to F and there are other settings which I never use. So cheap you can't go wrong and easy to travel with. I don't know how long the battery will last, yet. I find it very handy for Japanese greens but speed isn't a factor here. It takes more time for the water to cool to the required temp than having the thermometer register the temp.silverneedles wrote:5-10 seconds!!!
