Anything to be the very very first to market.
As such, often the very first to market offerings lack the best flavor or may be unbalanced.
Regardless, it is fun to watch the race ... I had the Hashiri from Den's last year. I am trying to be patient this year.

Agreed - I had the Hashiri last year and that sort of turned me off. This year - I am going to try to stay away from Den's.

It took a while to figure out, but once I did, the Hashiri was pretty nice. Den actually posted on his site that it was picked to be the first of the first and not necessarily at the most optimum time for picking.
I am proud to say, I have not ordered anything yet ...

Pre-ordered some Yutaka Midori from O-Cha, which I'm really looking forward to. Felt quite pleased with myself with having ordered some, but then popped in here to see many of you buying quite a few bags! Now I feel on the stingy

Yuuki-cha just put up 4 organic shin-chas for pre-order. Has anyone tried them? The few organic sencha's that I've had tended to be a bit weak in flavor.

yuuki-cha is on the newer side of things, I believe they only opened within the past year so I think this is their first go round for shincha season.

I had some of theirs last year. Not bad for organic shincha.
If you're interested in really good organic shincha, wait for japanesegreenteaonline. They have the BEST fukamushi style shincha EvAr!

I love how the shipping weight of the 10g Temomi is 1.5 pounds. Do they put bricks in there to balance it out

? The only thing I could think of is that it ships in a tin.

I saw that and thought it was kinda funny. There's nothing that would make it anywhere near that weight.

Well Chip - they have it on their website.
Den's will be carrying the same ones they did last time - including Hashiri.
This time - I will wait for others to order......

Couldn't resist trying it - ordered the Temomi today as my first Shincha order this year.
