Oriental Beauty wound up in the cup just as predicted.

Just to add to the "broken teaware" trend... I received a package yesterday containing a sweet little brown teapot with handpainted floral design on it, made in Japan, bought for next to nothing. Shipping cost about 9 bucks and the sale price of the teapot was under 2 dollars. I do love a bargain!

Well... the handle was broken in 3 pieces, and the lid was broken in 2 pieces. I am frustrated as you can imagine... the item wasn't expensive, but for 9 dollars USPS shipping, I expected more careful packaging... PLUS the box was not labeled as fragile, so there's no tellling how it was handled in transit.

So... I'm 11 bucks in the hole. I sent some friendly suggestions to the seller on how to more safely package fragile pieces, but I suppose its also my own fault for not insisting for insurance. I never thought of insuring something that sold for less than $2. Live and learn, I suppose.

Sorry to hear about your broken teapot, Sarah. That must have been so aggravating.

Hazel eyes here - mostly moss-green, with a dark-olive ring around the outside, but amber at the centre. Leaf vs. steeped!

That's sad! If it's due to poor packaging, I don't think it's your fault not purchasing the insurance. Actually nowadays I am very reluctant buying USPS insurance. I received broken ebay items twice, with insurance. One of them, USPS refused to pay because they said they could tell it was broken before it was shipped  They also mentioned that they wouldn't compensate for any broken items due to poor packaging. The second time, the specific USPS person who is in charge of insurance was not in office, and I was just tired of going there for the same issue again.

I am not sure if my eyes are black enough, but I chose "black" anyway. Black tea is the kind I like the least though - maybe I will like it more in the future :D

Mine eyes are blue.

I am drinking TeaGschwendner's Darjeeling Oolong Singbulli, which has a wonderful dry leaf nose, but is otherwise a fusspot of a tea that I am having difficulty getting to taste good.

Blue eyes for me! Interesting poll numbers...if us chatters represented a typical cross section of the population there would be more browns than blues, but they're running about even. Maybe the brown-eyed chatters are just not chatting today!

This morning hubby and I shared a pot of Ceylon on the deck as we ate late breakfast and soaked in some sweet spring sunshine. It was just a little cool so the tea made it perfect!

This afternoon I had some more Kukicha...perfect for a sweet spring afternoon.

Have a great week, all,
Dreamer

Dreamer,

I do love a good kukicha. Such a nourishing-tasting tea!

Kagoshima from Yuuki-Cha earlier which is certainly one of the best organics I have likely ever had.

Currently enjoying Fukamushi Supreme from O-Cha which is always great and wishing there was time for another tea, but too late for that. But a great TeaDay as usual. :D

I am as always enjoying everyone's posts ...

Hazel for me. Mostly light brown at the center, turning to green with a olive ring around the outside. Unless you look closely, they look amber brown.

Currently in my cup is iced Apricot Green tea. It has been really hitting the spot lately. I cold brew it by just sticking a fill your own teabag filled with a few scoops of the tea into a water bottle and it comes out really tasty. I'll probably have some hojicha shortly.

Sounds like a lid-epidemic lately!

Can one order replacement lids for teapots? Two of my plain ceramic teapots have lost their lids in various tragic ways and I'd love to replace them.

Oh, green eyes here ... and green tea of course. Coinkidinky? I don't know, but have always liked green anything.

I have black eyes and black hairs. But I don't drink too much black teas. :( My favourite tea is long jing green tea. Sometimes I will drink a little bit darjeeling black with milk. :)

The EBay seller kindly refunded 75 cents of the 1.25 sale price, LOL. However, none of the 9.05 shipping price was refunded. Oh well.
