I use either the brewing parameters that have worked for me in the past, or I consult here on TeaChat for advice from you guys... and if that works, I stick with it... if not, I tweak.
In my cup tonight... a Signature Blend called "De Lime in De Coconut"... yummydelish! I find the Adagio lime flavor to be fairly potent, so there's a low percentage of it in this blend... just a hint... more coconut and a dash of the pina colada tisane... will make an awesome summertime iced tea, but my first hot cup was really tasty too.

Like most of you, I use either a previous standard that has worked out for me before, or the recommended instructions, and move from there!
Been on a huge TGY streak lately so I've been steeping that all day! I might stray to a Bao Zhong here in a second!

Yes, INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW!
I can pretty much use the same methods with black teas, but usually start with the brewing instructions on the package of anything new. Speaking of new, I just had some Den's Sencha Fuka-midori. I could be spoiled for any other green tea now.

The last steeps of my Lupicia FF Darjeeling from this morning to end the day.
I'm going to miss this one. Probably not enough to buy again, but very
enjoyable nonetheless.

I got out the hot air popcorn popper tonight to try "roasting" genmai. This is easier than pan firing by far, and I got lots of popped rice.
Brewed some up, it is quite sweet and tasty. This may be the way to go. I will have to get out my fresh mugi (barley) and buckwheat and give them a spin in the popper.

In a word, yes.
When I joined TeaChat almost 3 years ago, it was a much more impersonal forum. Also I am rather acutely paranoid of sharing personal info of any kind over the internet. I decided when I joined the forum that I would limit personal info I shared, not only here, but other forums as well.
Since then TC has changed quite a bit, especially over the last year or so. It is a much more personal place, and I have made a lot of TeaFriends a long the way. I decided it was time. So yesterday I "spontaneously let it slip." I was not sure if anyone would catch it, TBH.
So, in a few words, yes.

Welcome to the club, Chip. The "Don't tell my spouse what I just paid for that tea/ware" club

Chip, a married guy with lots of cats is WAY less scary than a single guy with lots of cats!

So it's good to know you have a spouse who keeps you balanced!

Sigh... another tea-brewing, Hagi-buying man is off the market.
And I was the first one to catch it, muhahahahahahaha.
Looking forward to hearing more about Mrs. Chip in the future.

Hmmm, sounds like a great new tradition for your humble moderator. Birthday, Christmas, International Forum Moderator Day, etc.
Guess that means your birthday is on the 31
