2nd post here for me today...how unconventional
Awesome pictures here on the old chat today!!!! Thanks so much Sal and GeekG for posting them!!!
Jack_teachat, hope your PhD application was smooth sailing!!!
Just finished with a lovely bowl of matcha...it was so good and it got rid of the mean stress headache that was pounding around in my head...I may have another bowl. That would be decadently indulgent for me...I don't think I've ever had two bowls of matcha in one day.
Be well,

I do indeed. This particular chasen is very well made though. It has been in heavy use for months now, as my original whisk. So whenever it is I reported on here having my original foray into matcha... that's the one.Salsero wrote: Thanks for sharing yet another stunning image, GGU. Do you holster that thing on one of those chasen stands to keep the end curl so nice?
Gosh, don't come by TC for a few days and the whole look changes. I like it, BTW.
#2 I've learned tons from TC, but pretty much brew my own way to suit my tastes.
Big winter storm moved in today and our wise boss closed the office at 1:00, so no Thursday T@3 group this week. Now I'm safely home with a working water heater (cold showers in March
), chili on the stove, and sweet Darjee curled next to me.
In my cup thus far today: Gyokuro with Rosebuds then some Ali Shan. Now to find something sturdier to drink with that chili; maybe a Darjeeling then Flintridge Chai for dessert later.

Mmmm, I took this pic back in October and I don't keep notes, but I would guess that I used a flash with barn doors, another flash for fill, and probably a cross screen filter ... I think there was also a small nuclear explosion as a hair light.GeekgirlUnveiled wrote: BTW, Sal, if that's not natural light, what kind of lighting setup did you use?

I would say I defy convention pretty regularly due to the chaos of two small ones in the house. I DEFINITELY am forced to take short cuts sometimes...But I am filing your great advice in my brain for use on the days that I DO have time.
A very uninspired, kind of ho hum, Darjeeling First Flush today.

Great TeaDay continued with Matcha Tori from Yuuki-Cha in a Seigan Celestial Blue Hagi bowl, SweeTea was wanting her share. This is more of a Winter bowl and I guess should be packed away, but I am going to defy tradition, it is toooo cool.
Next, Zencha Takumi from Yame brewed cooler, something I recently had reinforced by blarson of TeaChat.
Lastly, O-Cha Uji sencha teabag while visiting my parents, they actually showed some interest which shocked me tbh.
Anyway, great TeaDay!

I voted I tend to follow the advice here on TC as I consider myself still fairly new to tea. I would have never ventured into all the Japanese Greens without the guidance and advice found here in our own Green Tea threads. I wasn't even aware of all the varietals, prefectures, vendors...on and on until I found TeaChat!
And all her knowledgable chatters, special thanks to Chip, Olivierco, Pentox, and alot of recent posters that have helped me immeasurably through their posts! Thanks everyone
Saying that, I do find myself experimenting a bit and going against convention more and more as I feel more confident, but for now GO TEADAY AND TEACHAT
