Short version of a looong story for another day, I have some from my first year of drinking tea. They are more decorative and certainly not of the tradtional styling I see on TC, unfortunately, TC was not around in 1999. But I still love them.

Began the TD with Zuiko from Den's in my fave Hagi set. I am not sure if it is the Hagi, but I have realllllly enjoyed Zuiko since I began brewing and drinking it in Hagi. SweeTea would certainly concur and she enjoyed hers as well. Lil Bit who is not so little to say the least, was stretched across the TeaTable, til I remembered his last visit when I used this set and he almost broke a cup. He was escorted from the TeaTable. Pyrit quickly filled the void. :D

Sounds dangerous and expensive!

I just finished up a session of Chiran Supreme from O-Cha. I lowered the temp a bit to just under 160* and shortened the brew time to true Fukamushi <40 seconds. Came out remarkably like Yutaka Midori from O-Cha. Of course Chiran is YM as well, but this time it was virtually spot on the more expensive and classic big brother.

A big order from Hou De arrived today (though mostly samples, to be honest... although also expensive samples -- but no, not the Red Mark :D ), and so I cracked open one of the 1993 Fenghuang tuos from Da Li Nan Jian.

Wow.

I have a couple, 50 ml and maybe 200 ml, production models, nothing to write home about, that I use for oolongs and Chinese greens. For greens I also use a Korean ceramic infuser cup that I picked up on my single short visit to Asia. And a nice little kyusu for Japanese greens. A small Chatsford pot for blacks.

Tieguanyin in the cup at the moment.

I have two. One I am working using more (thanks to brandon!) and the other is way too big (10oz) for any type of oolong or pu so it sits in the box. That one will either be for display or will eventually get dedicated to black tea that I brew in slightly larger batches just so I can use the pot for something. I love the yixing that I use, though I have been using a gaiwan for the pu samples to get a better idea of how to brew them.

Currently in my cup is home roasted mugicha.

I have one 200 ml yixing green clay pot that I use a lot for oolong.

Yutaka Midori to get things going this morning. I'm just about to summon up the energy to make an evening pot of Keemun. Starting to look expectantly at my mailbox for shincha.

Oh we are having too much fun and it's only Friday!!
At the tea house the Taiwanese owner was off to Taiwan buying the spring
harvest, so no tasting butttt ... Someone bought the most beautiful hand carved lotus tea tray!
 :)

Then at the Japanese store, the other party bought a beautiful Somayaki piece and then the party to the first part, bought a new matcha bowl. We picked up some fresh sushi and the most delicious looking fresh baked bread.

Tomorrow - Barneys then Rodeo Drive then Beverly Hills then on to Hankook then Wing Hop Fung! Whew!

Somewhere in there we had bubble tea, Nilgiri and rose white tea.

Sounds like you two are painting the town green. 8)

Next up today was Spring Sprout from Rishi with DW. I had this for going on a year, but kept it aside to see what effect time would have on it. It was very good, brewed grandfather style, quite excellent. I like it better now I think.

At a Japanese/Chinese restuarant, we were served a "mystery tea" that I could swear was shu pu-erh. I asked the server what it was, she said, "hot." I said, "I mean what kind of tea is it." She replied, "Chinese." Oh well. It was better than most teas I have had in restaurants.
