We're going to spend a week in San Francisco and Carmel. I will be going to my favorite tea places, of course (Imperial Tea Court, Red Blossom, White Crane, etc.) But it doesn't quite count as a vacation: both my DH and I travel there quite a lot for work.
Here's my white currant bloom. The bush is covered in them--I might be having white currant jam next winter

Not sure of any vacation plans at this point. Tea will certainly play a part however. Everyone has great plans!
Thanks everyone for the photos!
Began the TeaDay with O-Cha's Chiran Supreme, 2008 vintage. You don't always have to have shincha to enjoy remarkable sencha. This stuff is cheap and good. SweeTea was enjoying it. Pyrit, Wulong, and TEAh were passive aggressive at the TeaTable.

blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

I picked Tea Vacation because July is dedicated to tea.
August, I should be going on a cruise!
After the 'cruise,' I will be going to the mountains.
Your vacation agenda makes us all jealous!
Maybe we will get in the same regions and can meet up for some tea!

My vacation(s) sounds extravagent at first, but I am going home from China after a 2 years stay, so I am having a super long tea vacation right before I go, and then when I see my friends who I haven't seen in 2 years, we have to go on another vacation. Then I have to find a real job afterwards, so its not as great as it might seem at first.
In terms of meeting up, we have no excuse not to! July in China, or any time after in MASS.
@ Drax
Were you expecting white tea with the BaiMuDan? Its a Wuyi cultivar which is made into White tea as well as Yancha, which might explain your confusion.
Great! If not in China, surely in Mass!

We are in the midst of a global pandemic.
The idiots at CDC and WHO failed to issue critical travel advisories and restrictions early on; they were needed to forestall rapid spread of this new strain with very unusual epidemiological characteristics. It's now in the Southern Hemisphere and percolating into Asia.
I sure as hell wouldn't be thinking of travel plans. I would be reviewing survival mode plans, if I were you.
The Mundane: Keemun up next in my cup.
That's a big concern of mine now, and I am not sure where is a safer vacation place
I am not very much concerned by the disease itself. From what I heard, it's not a killing virus to people with normal, strong immune system. But I heard some countries would possibly apply 7-day quarantine to people who have suspected symptoms and are fresh off international flight. I don't want to spend my precious vacation time in quarantine

No money to travel anywhere this year. I'll be staying here, maybe using my vacation days to take the dogs hiking at the state park or take my kayak out.
I need to mow my yard before it rains, and then I will settle in with a nice shincha.

In my cup is Kagoshima sencha Sae-Midori.
This summer, why I'll be drinking a lot of sencha alright.
Here's some tea triva for you:
Did you know that sencha is one of the best teas to drink during the summer? It's no coincidence that Sencha starts with an S and Summer does likewise.
Granted sencha is a staple for me throughout the year. But during summer it's particularly well suited.

I knew the peony would be a bit stronger than a typical white (or at least, than the usual silver needles variety) -- but I guess I wasn't expecting such a similar flavor to black tea, given that they're at the opposite ends of the oxidation spectrum....

"I am not sure where is a safe(r) vacation place".
Between the global recession and pandemic, it would be prudent to put travel money into simple safeguards (emergency provisions, standby power).
These are not normal times.
In my cup: sencha.

I'd love to goto Key West in the US or to Acapulco in Mexico with my gf but we have so many things up in the air it's not going to happen this year...maybe next year when things settle down a bit.
I'm not scared of the virus, things are back to normal in Mexico City already and a recession sure isn't the end of the world either.

Slightly more distant shore??
Currently on the east coast, but going to Hawaii for 2 weeks and SF for a weekend in June. I'm an ocean lover so it's a distant shore to me
Had a wonderful matcha smoothie today!
