Chip - how closely do you feel reality fits your vision of TeaDay?
I think we are a pretty eccletic mix of tea drinkers. We have fans of all sorts of teas and people who are at various stages of their personal tea journey. I feel this makes for a wonderful environment for sharing with each other. I love how we all seem to vicariously get excited over the joys of fellow tea folks whether it is a new tea or peice of teaware or a wonderful moment where their teahourney suddly seemed to blossom.
I love that we share so much here, not just tea. Like the photos of gardens!! Community is wonderful no matter where you find/make it

In a few minutes I will be leaving for a week: tomorrow in Montezuma NWR with trumpeter swans, cerulean warblers eagles and (hopefully) black terns, Wednesday and Thursday in Ithaca, Friday and Saturday in Rochester, then back on the pike all day Sunday.
Have a great TeaWeek everyone.

What I find intriguing is, the rules make it sound like teaday is only for the topic. But in enforcement/reality people post and talk about many things. I think it is good that people have a place to share...but if it is meant to be a little more loose than that should be clarified. (unless it is clarified and I missed reading it...which has happened already)

Golden Monkey (King

) is goot
"You want the taste of dried leaves in boiled water?"
"Er, yes. With milk."
"Squirted out of a cow?"
"Well, in a manner of speaking I suppose ..."

The idea of an "open mic" tea day sounds good and the results are fun!
Great blue garden pics!!!
I'm really glad to hear that Bubba found his way home!!!
One of our cats, a lifelong indoor cat, escaped our house in February one year. When we finally found him, 18 days later, he had lost 1/3 of his body weight and had sore feet. He recovered quickly and we were all glad to have him home...I'm sure we would have wondered about him forever.
Fun gathering with you all today!

LOL, there is no rule per se that one must stick to the topic. There is a spontaneousness to TeaDay that is part of its casual TeaRoom endearing qualiTea.
Rabbit trails are welcome and occur all the time.
Kirameki asamushicha from O-Cha is currently being served, sharing this one with my wife. I think I have figured this one out, each year I get it I have to retrain it seems.

In my cup this afternoon, Baozhong from Cameilla Sinensis.
Excellent but off their site now.
This afternoon I am anticapating some fresh strawberry cake for my boss's
birthday. I am so ready for some good cake.
Yum!

I so love seeing Sal's daily photo of Tea in situ, such a beautifully arranged situation, and so well photographed. I endeavoured to take some photos of my own morning tea, to show, but my indoor photography skills do not amount to much.
One day I decided to show a garden shot, it drew favourable comment so I repeat the dose from time to time.
If it had not received nice comments I would not have done it again.
I try and make sure it is a photo that I have taken that day!
I view the topic as what's in your cup and what else is happening round you on this TeaDay.

I totally agree with you...informal is good. I hope in no way it sounded like I was against that. (at second reading, it seemed like I was against it or something of that nature) I think the garden shots are great and should be posted. I think people should be free of cumbersome constrictions. Sadly, I'm not sure all people agree.

Hmm.
Anyway, I'm still going with this 1997 Yiwu Ye that I got from TeaCuppa. It's been an interesting journey, but I think that I will transition to a dan cong or some other oolong this evening...

Interesting topic choice of no topic.
It has been a tough day for me today. My cat, Cinnamon, passed away this afternoon from kidney failure. She hid it so well that we didn't even know she was sick until a few days ago and then she just declined rapidly over the weekend. The vet said that there was nothing we could have done for her, but she wasn't in any pain.
Currently in my cup, the left over green tea that has been in my travel mug all day. It is lukewarm, but I am not yet motivated to make anything else yet.

So sorry CK. Having recently lost 2 cats we raised since birth, I know your pain. Remember the good times and her personality, it is amazing how they all have one.

I am so sorry, CK. I know you loved her very much and I am glad that the two of you were able to spend so much wonderful time together and that she wasn't in pain. {{{hugs}}}
