HA, been there and done that, but with sencha and especially shincha, just go for it!!! But this is not cheap sencha, so I try to have it last a bit longer.

I find you have to use enough leaf with this one, a gram leaf per ounce water ratio at least. Remins me of Yutaka Midori from O-Cha and Gyokuro combined.

About to brew up Kirameki shincha from O-Cha, a great asamushi!
of course I *AM* only working with 3 shinchas right now.. having some Takumi! running low...ack

I don't really follow the same tea every day. I'm actually pretty far from it. I'm on my tea journey always trying out something new. So the most I tend to buy is 100g of any given tea. After that's gone I move on. Most of what I get is in 50g packs.

Lupicia Snow Leaves is making me rethink this though. It's actually one I'm considering stocking all the time. Along with Coco Chai from Mighty Leaf (although that's a rooibos)

This morning: The last of my Aroma Tea Shop - High Mountain Oolong.

Wow, that must be one heck o a great tea. And never reviewed on your blog, as far as I can tell. Are you holding out on us about the really good stuff?

Normally, I only have one Japanese green open at a time, so I drink the same thing repeated there ... but it can be a week or more between sessions of that same tea (that's why it lasts me so awfully long), and never twice in the same day.

So much tea, so little time. Sometimes I think I need to stop spreading myself so thin on tea types. I wind up with a broad but shallow experience.

I know the feeling. I have been there. This was one primary reason I decided to focus on one type of tea, and I chose green since it was my fave by far at the time. I actually feel so much better about my tea experiences since I did this. And I still drink other types of teas, just focused on the greens only.

Just a thought ...

I tend to drink the same masala chai blend everyday, but I alter it every once and a while.

I am still trying new teas though, I went a bit psycho and got samplers all over the place. Have about 54 teas lying around including my roommates... tried most of them. So lazy :)

Having a newish masala chai blend today, ginger/cinnamon/cloves/pepper but no cardamom  . Not bad! Going to try some more honeybush teas and work with Kagoshima Sencha Sae Midori some more. About time to make more orders from o-cha! really good stuff.

I like to have a hearty mug of Harney & Sons' "Cranberry Autumn" almost every morning in the cold months and Kokomo Teas' 8th & Ocean in the warmer months.

In my cup: Touch Organic's "Chun Mei" green tea... a bit smoky and hay-ish.

Nah, it's just I haven't gotten around to writing the review for it. Since it's not time sensitive it goes into the general review pile. Review is coming at some point. But basically it's a Phoenix oolong for $7/50g. It's one of the best contenders in it's price range that I've seen, although I need to try out Imen's for that range.

You are both wise old men ... or wise beyond your years ... anyway, you're both wise guys.

Pentox, have you tried the Jing Milan Everyday Dan Cong at $5 for 100 grams (+ shipping from China)? If you are interested PM me your address and I'll send you some to try out.

Depends totally on circumstances.

Tend towards seasonal favorites that constitute a dependable set of 'go-to' teas that I stick with from year to year. Depends on the vagaries of quality, access and cost (harvest failures have hit many of the major tea growing areas in the past few years due to climate change). Also depends on whether I am working through tea on hand before buying more because I've overshot my consumption capacity.

Tried an estate Assam from SpecialTeas: Majulighur TGFOP. Not impressed. Bit bland, more like a blender tea than a quality estate assam. Glad I didn't buy it (free sample).

I pretty much never drink the same tea two days in a row...I tend to buy small quantities of many different kinds of tea and jump around between them.

I'm drinking Keemun Hao Ya today...light and sweet :)

The everyday milan dancong is a nice oolong, it has big, whole leaves which you don't see much in a tea that cheap...without smaller buds or lots of stem it can be a bit harsh sometimes though...I like it for iced tea and usually drink the single bush milan dancong hot...I was spoiled trying the single bush first.

The difference between single bush and everyday is that the everyday has stronger astringency (that can get harsh if you're not carefully brewing) and the flavours and aroma aren't as intense or clear.

Almost every day, I have the same teas until I run out of them, especially if they are time sensitive. My current morning tea is a sencha with matcha that works well as a casual brew when I am not awake enough to be exact and gives me three good steeps to fill my travel mug and thermos. I was given a 4 ounce bag of it so part of the reason that I drink it five mornings a week is to use it up. Sadly, it gets very bitter if I don't drink it within a few hours, but it works fine for now. I've also been on a shincha kick and have been enjoying either the fukamushi sencha supreme or yutaka midori almost every day in the early evening.

My cup is currently empty. That should be remedied eventually.
