My best tea in May was a single session with Adam's Peak white tea at a local tea room. The aroma was very floral and the taste like some kind of ambrosia made from honey...yes it was that good. The leaves never gave up either each infusion was full of the same delicate, heavenly honey flavors...my body said that's enough tea! before either I or the leaves were ready to quit.
I had a whiskey or scotch cocktail with Lapsang in it. The smokiness really compliments whiskey or scotch.Trey Winston wrote: Does anyone on TeaDay know a cocktail with tea as one of the ingredients?
Surely that would be a surefire hit? Gong-fu sencha and vodka, for instance?
Anyone?
"You want the taste of dried leaves in boiled water?"
"Er, yes. With milk."
"Squirted out of a cow?"
"Well, in a manner of speaking I suppose ..."

Interesting. I would never have thought of that, but it makes sense. One more thing to tryspot52 wrote:I had a whiskey or scotch cocktail with Lapsang in it. A tough call this month, but it was green and Japanese. Kirameki and Sae Midori from O-Cha, Magokuro from Yuuki-Cha, and Takumi from Zencha all share top honors this month.
Began the TD late with Kirameki asamushi hand picked shincha. Really sang in my cup. SweeTea heard the music while Pyrit did not.
Next up was Takumi from Zencha which was gggrrreat!!! I shared this one with the Mrs.

It's all about the fresh fruit today. Iced tea enhances, but it's definitely a back seat. This one is pretty decent - Cylon Ceylon, one of Adagio's "signature blends." The first iced tea I made today was TERRIBLE, I dumped it out. It was one of the fruit blends from Rishi. My hubby said it tasted like nyquil, and not in a good way.

A few drops of aged sheng or a little Yunnan hongcha instead of just water can go well with a nice maltspot52 wrote:I had a whiskey or scotch cocktail with Lapsang in it. Ah, good point. If you are a scotch lover...there was a nice article in national geographic adventure a few months ago. It was all about scotch and paddling a kayak in the Inner Hebrides. It was a nice read.Proinsias wrote:A few drops of aged sheng or a little Yunnan hongcha instead of just water can go well with a nice maltspot52 wrote:I had a whiskey or scotch cocktail with Lapsang in it. There was a whiskey/green tea cocktail highlighted on one episode of Three Sheets (Taiwan, I think? Maybe Hong Kong). I haven't tried it but Zane thought it was good.spot52 wrote:I had a whiskey or scotch cocktail with Lapsang in it. Green. Definitely a toss up between the two shinchas that I have tried so far: Fukamushi Sencha Supreme and Yutaka Midori, both from O-cha. Both are excellent and I really can't choose between the two of them as to which is more of a favorite.
My cup is currently filled with some nice hojicha to end the day.

Mos def greeen! I am loving O-cha's sae midori. I ordered a few others from o-cha after reading some reviews too. THANKS FOR THE EXCELLENT AND HELPFUL REVIEWS GUYS!
I would never have found out about any of this without this forum.
I am enjoying some sae midori right now. Need someone to share with though, 5 infusions/around 300ml each, 1.8 l ahhhhh!! I am going to the bathroom constantly ahhaa. But i don't care I'm so grateful for all tea, it evens me out(some say otherwise haha!), and is taking my mind off worrying about some friends in Pakistan now.
Everyone have a good day!
