Very important, might not be drinking tea without it, might not ...

That's my vote, but mostly because of needing caffeine in the morning.
Which I guess that habit could be broken if tea did not contain caffeine,
but it does. Guess I'd prefer it did in the moning and it didn't at night.
:)

FF Darjeeling oolong from Cameilla Sinensis in my cup this morning, so good
I brought the leaves to work and continued my session here.

I definitely need some caffeine so I can get through work without falling asleep. However, I made the switch to tea because the caffeine in it is just enough to perk me up, and I don't feel any side effects afterward. Coffee did tend to make me feel more sluggish while tea simply makes me feel refreshed. There's also just enough caffeine to open blood vessels to stave off stress headaches.

I have ADHD, so supposedly caffeine is supposed to calm me, but I truly cant tell whether its the caffeine thats doing it to me or the other mysterious chemicals in the tea. All I know is I can drink tea right before bed and it will have no effect if not help me sleep.

caffeine is very unimportant, the content doesn't matter. I enjoy herbal teas just as much as a green or black.

Enjoying another cup of ginger cardamom chai, while studying for a differential equations test weeeeeeeeeee! Will be trying more of my adagio samples later.

You could always drink herbals/tisanes at night... since they don't have caffeine...
Well yeah, if I really liked those, I could. 8) I could drink water kool-aid, etc. But, I like tea. :D

To me, herbals/tisanes are not interchangeable substitutes for tea because they don't taste the same and I don't enjoy them to the same level. I drink some home-fired mugicha and it's nice but it does not replace tea.

Caffeine is important for me because I don't like to drink black teas in the evenings because of sleep. I prefer teas that are lower in caffeine in general so it is a little important.

Caffeine is not overly important, but it is nice at times. I am finding that while most teas' caffeine does not affect me, shincha and gyokuro make me feel like I can fly at times. I actually went for a few years enjoying peppermint tisane in the morning, which naturally does not have caffeine in it, so my tea consumption tends to be more of enjoying hot beverages more than needing to be caffeinated.

Fukamushi Sencha Supreme in my cup, while listening to the new Dave Matthews Band album. Both are awesome.

The caffeine's not important to my enjoyment of tea at all, it just doesn't seem to have much impact on my body and I can goto sleep immediately after enjoying a pot of tea...now if you asked if theanine was important to my enjoyment of tea I would have to say definitely yes xD

Today I've been drinking 1994 Feng Qing sheng pu-erh from a tuocha I bought last year. :)

Caffine isn't a factor for me at all. I'm rarely affected by it at all. In fact, the only time I did get jitters was after drinking an incredibly obscene amount of lapsang souchong (silly experiment to see how many steepings I could stomach).

Caffeine is not important to me one bit. I could drink an 8 shot espresso before bed, and still fall asleep. It's more about preperation, scent, and taste for me. Ti Kuan Yin in my cup now.

Finished the TD with another FF Darjeeling sample from the "A" team enjoyed with my wife. This time it was a Risheehat with all the pedigre.

The aroma was a little softer than some of the other samples but very nce. The flavor however was more pronounced, sweet, fruity, and a touch of honey in the background. Pretty good! I liked this much more than the much pricier sample from yesterday.

I had a little caffeine jitters after this one. This happens to me more with Indian teas even though I use less than half the leaf of many other teas.

Caffeine is to tea as sex is to marriage.

I suppose that might be a little extreme. :D However, caffeine is part of my enjoyment of the whole tea experience.

Speaking of which, I so enjoyed two steeps of Margaret's Hope FF Darjeeling tonight on the back porch.
