I've been gulping down O-cha sencha chiran for the past couple days because my sincha is on the way. IT showed up today! along with a kyusu.
Great news all the way around. :D

Trioxin, Congrats on being #10,000!

Irish Breakfast in my cup this morning.
None of my tuocha's or the good maocha smell like compost...I have some loose shu pu-erh that does I should just toss in my garden compost pile where it belongs.

I've sampled it and am still trying to figure out if I like it or not. Part of the problem is not having a scale and not being able to estimate the leaf amount with the compressed cake. At the moment, I may dabble in it occasionally, but I am too enamored by my greens and oolongs to dive in more deeply.

Speaking of greens, more fukamushi sencha supreme in my cup. I am getting to down to the last bits of it, but have at least enough left for one more session.

Man, our little Salsero is all grown up.
That is the way to pound some tea!

The wonderful people on this site have introduced me to the wonders of pu-erh, for which I am most grateful. But it remains a "now and then" tea for me, having failed to supplant my beloved Darjeelings as the "all day, every day" tea.

Never tried it...not sure I'd know where to start.

This morning I enjoyed the same blend I made yesterday (2 parts Kenilworth and 1 part Assam)...that hit the spot so well yesterday that I just had to do it again.

This afternoon I would have benefited from a bowl of matcha before my endodontist appointment...2nd part of what was supposed to be a 2-part root canal. Due to time constraints I was not where I could have matcha before I left for the appointment. Unfortunately, my jaw locked open just before he would have been totally finished with me, and my two-part root canal has turned into a three-part root canal.

Actually it was locked for a while, but I kept thinking he was nearly done and that I could tough it out, finally it was hurting so bad that I just had to fess up...telling the assistant that it was stuck was like playing charades in the dentist chair...when she finally got it she said "are you kidding me???" It is apparently a BIG deal; they went into sort of an "emergency-lets-get-to-a-good-stopping-place mode. She said that in all the years she's been with him, they'd never had anyone get stuck. (And now we return you to your regularly scheduled tea talk.)

I highly recommend a nice bowl of matcha before dental procedures...it worked so well last time and I won't do without it next time!!!

Right now I'm having some YM sincha. This is good, but I find myself wanting to get to the end of it so I can open some other green. I just have not enjoyed it as much as last year's sincha or even last year's sencha. I know if I let it "go stale" I won't even finish it.

Gotta go...my "baby" turns 18 tomorrow and I'm gonna bake him a cake!

Joy, joy, joy,
Dreamer

Very rarely... have had some that was just dreadfully awful, some that was palatable but not particularly pleasant, and some that was pretty good... never had any that was truly sublime.

I wanted to like it because it's odd, different, cool, non-conformist, etc. I just haven't been seduced. But, I keep trying every now and then... as my tea palate continues to mature and broaden, I think maybe someday I will have that Ah-Ha! moment with pu.

Sencha overture from Adagio... it's been far too slow a tea day today.

I've had a few different pu-erh teas, and I never really liked any of them. They taste way too earthy for me. As kymidwife says, perhaps someday my tastes will be such that I like it, but right now pu-ehr just doesn't do it for me.

Very rarely.......pretty much Japanese greens every day for me.........all the pu's that I have tried have been quite good but of course they lack the "freshness" of a good jap. green.

*About to brew shincha gyokuro from hoshino vilage

Today I had some cold brew Margaret's Hope Darjeeling again...I made up a nice big pitcher of it the other day. :D

Now I'm winding down with 2007 single bush Milan Dancong, so very relaxing and absolutely delicious :D
