And I had Formosa Crocodile Lapsang Souchong when I got home...a nice LS though not as good as the Wuyi...
Awww that's too bad you had to work!! But you will have many, many more great ones to come!!depravitea wrote:Road show, with tea (never without) Unfortunately my destination was work, where I slaved trough a 10-hour-shift on my first fathers day![]()
Boazong oolong with me at the BBQ - way tooooooooo much food.
Then matcha for my last tea of the day, a little late in the day, but it was so good.

Today was just a little bit sad, because my father died last month and this is the first Father's Day without him. Couldn't send him flowers (which was my tradition), so made a couple of charitable donations in his memory instead.
Cherish your dads!
In my cup... a rooibos concoction, which I'm drinking as an act of solidarity with dear husband (who is supposed to stay away from caffeine - poor thing).

Victoria & Sal: Yep, people just call for directions, show up, pick all they want, and then pay us. Most people get 10 pounds or so, but some get a lot for canning or whatever. And Sal, I have made myself a little sick "testing" the cherries to see if they are ready, which usually involves trying a couple off of almost each one of the 40 trees!
Chip: The clump of Rainiers are almost ripe and they turn a kind of bright red on the parts exposed more to the sun, but they have yellow on the underside and a blend of colors in-between. The photo of the clump looks like big bubbles to me!
Depravitea: Sorry you had to work on your first Father's Day! Hopefully you got to spend some time with your kid(s)
Chamekke: I'm also sorry about your dad. I'm sure he would be happy that you donated in his memory.

Oh no, not at all. Actually it was very sweet. I've been doing my best to focus on happy memories. I've been doing that Buddhist thing where you say daily prayers for someone for 49 days (7 weeks) after they pass away, so Dad got a lot of prayers today especiallyChip wrote:Chamekke,
I actually thought of you after I had completed the topic. I hope I did not add to your sadness.

This tune goes out to Chamekke, where ever she is:
Song For My Father
(written by the legendary jazz master, Horace Silver)

If there was ever a man
Who was generous, gracious and good
That was my dad
The man
A human being so true
He could live like a king
'Cause he knew
The real pleasure in life
To be devoted to
And always stand by me
So I’d be unafraid and free
If there was ever a man
Who was generous, gracious and good
That was my dad
The man
A human being so true
He could live like a king
'Cause he knew
The real pleasure in life
To be devoted to
And always stand by me
So I’d be unafraid and free
If there was ever a man
Who was generous, gracious and good
That was my dad
The man, The man
In my cup, green tea chai

Finally back after the weekend in Shreveport, LA (a place I am not a fan of visting). It was pretty miserable without my tea. I was cranky a lot of the time
On Saturday I decided to breakdown and go to Starbucks for some tea only to find it had gone out of business! Went to visit one of my grandmothers and she offered me some Lipton Pekoe. I did not feel that desperate. On Sunday I decided to see what the local Brookshires (which is 1/3rd the size of my HEB) might have. There was a WALL of Lipton ice tea bags, followed by a wall of Luzianne ice tea bags and a column of Tetly ice tea. Then a small cluster of hot tea bag. Behind a metal post I located a couple boxes of an Organic Chai which had the mysterious ingredient 'organic flavor'. Figured I would risk it. Put in three bags to get it strong enough. It wasn't too bad, but had a bizarre soapy aftertase.
Very, VERY glad to be back home.
