Gorgeous, light smoke hits first, then mandarin-orange fruit right behind it in a way that feels speedy and stays alive throughout; sweet cup scent. The other was Wuyi Imperial DHP from Jing Tea Shop, richer, deeper, not so brisk, with the fruit first.
This thread causes some crazy things to happen, especially out of control impulsive tea buying  and speaking of that I've been thinking of trying jings imperial DHP for a while but the price deters me most of the time. Has anyone tried jings Imperial DHP and compared it to the seasonal or xiao hong pao? If so how does it compare?

Im drinking rou gui from dragon tea house today. I can't wait to get some rou gui from jing to compare with dragon tea house's because so far the rou gui from dragon tea house is one of my favorite teas. The smell is just delicious.

OK, a shameless plug for our host. Maestro series just went live individually. http://www.adagio.com/masters/index.htm ... 4b75bea4fa

Looking at the url, perhaps a name change, "masters?"

And with that, in my cup presently ... the Maestro TKY. I am quite keen on this green oolong.

Now that Finals are basically over, I am in the "Consume Tea" phase, and thankfully I have a bit more time as I am graduating. I hate taking home lots of small little samples, and I would much rather drink as much, so it doesn't take up as much space.

So I am almost to the last of my Andao White Rooster Crest, The pot is incredibly packed and was from the bottom of the bag, so I am resorting to flash brews right now till it settles down a bit. But wow does it smell delicious.

I must admit, the title "Maestro" conjures images of dignified Italian conductors with batons and flaming eyes or insane future Hulk taxiderming his best friend and taking over the world (to me.) I might find a "Master" series of teas less intimidating.

Just finished my afternoon tea session with a wu yi tea. The tea has no further designation except C17, that is WU YI C17 :? It is ideal to drink in our present blistering heat wave. It has a very nice aroma during the first infusion and leaves a pleaseent thirst quenching aftertaste. Infused hot I drink it warm. Out of 550 ml of water I get 4 good infusions from first 30 sec to last 60 sec. Normally I choose every afternoon a different tea except now in this heat. High thirties C, high ninenties F. This tea which I got on the cheap is quite a few degrees better than some wu yi I had bought from Jings Tea Store at much higher prices. In fact one of them was utterly useless and another one I am aging since 2 years in the hope it will improve.

Who else has a great Da Yu Ling? Winter '09 or Spring '10.

Well Camellia Sinensis still has their Da Yu Lin. It was excellent. Did you try some of their green oolongs?

This morning I am drinking the last of this one:
Mayuan Shan Mrs. Nian

Currently sold out but I spy a couple of 2010 slowly begin to trickle in. :)

First order from the newly opened Mandarin's Tea Room - 2009 Anxi High Fired TiKwanYin.

I rarely drink Anxi TGY but when I do I prefer a heavy roast. This tea is excellent. Today I brewed the tea right after opening the package. The next time I'll let the tea breathe for several days to see if I can taste the difference. This tea should age well I would think.

Waiting to hear more about how the Taiwan spring oolong season is. Will order some DYL from Floating Leaves or Camellia Sinensis soon. Will keep on eye on Stephane as well. :)

Many different kind of the qingxiang style tieguanyin in Anxi. Bot organic and not organic. This afternoon had a sip of the fourth price winner of the Anxi tea competition, with a pineapple flavour (ever heard of?).

Nice photo Brandon! But light the fire, it's chilly this morning. :)

TKY for me this morning too, but Adagio's Masters Collection.
