I collect English style teaware, both old & new. Hubby deals in antiques so I've been able to find several pieces by tagging along w/him to auctions, estate sales & other antique shops. There's also a lady from CA who makes & hand paints teaware. We carry her line in our store but she also has a website
www.porcelaintreasures.com. You might also check ebay as I found some vintage dessert plates to match my cups & saucers.
What henley said. In my town, the best inexpensive source of bone china teacups is local consignment shops and second-hand stores. The one nearest my home has a huge section devoted to them. Then there are plenty of antique shops that carry them, not to mention shops devoted to china.
I also second eBay as a good source, if you don't mind paying the shipping (and if your town doesn't offer the above choices, it may be one of your best bets). The selection there is mind-boggling. It's also a great place to match an orphaned cup with a solitary saucer; one of my mother's chintz teacups had long been missing a saucer, but I found one for it on eBay.

Sorry, if I lighten them they get washed out. Studio photography is not my forte, and I just have a point-and-click sony cybershot DSC-T5 at the moment. Far cry from my darkroom days back at school
And that's a great shot, I like the red candle and placemats.

Man, I know how you feel. I'm ashamed to admit used to work as a photographer and graphic artist, yes I got paid for it, But I'm too lazy to break out my OM1 and film nowdays, or stage anything, so cheapo sony cybershot snapshots it is till I can get a real digital.

Very attractive, tenuki! I love your photos of these cups.
What are their dimensions, by the way? Your photos got me wondering, especially the one above, showing the rosy tones at the base of the cup. It looks very much like one of the cups from a Japanese hagiware sake set I own.*
Many sake cups would make superb vessels for gyokuro and sencha. I think these would work wonderfully.

* Or rather,
owned - now it's all bundled and boxed, ready to be donated to a local charity shop. I'm trying to downsize so that I have room for all the new tea wares I've bought. (It's a perfectly good sake set, but because I have others I like even better, I found I never actually used it.)
