Re: John Baymore ... Wood-fired Chadogu and Pottery
Thanks Chip. They are fired exactly as Bizenyaki is fired.

Yet more work from my summer 2013 production in Japan. The last set were handbuilt chawan...... these are thrown in the Ido Style (Well type)... but not conforming too tightly to that model.

Congratulations on your inclusion, John! Looks like a fascinating book which is even more so due to its focus on the wood firing potters such as yourself versus the subject of wood firing only.

I love the spiral in the bottom of this! gorgeousJBaymore wrote:Yet more work from my summer 2013 production in Japan. The last set were handbuilt chawan...... these are thrown in the Ido Style (Well type)... but not conforming too tightly to that model.

Re: John Baymore ... Wood-fired Chadogu and Pottery
Hi all. Realizing that I have not posted any information here in a good long while since getting back from working in Japan. It has been a busy fall and winter semester for me at the college, making pots, and had a few "life issues" thrown in there to take up some time.
Here's a new glaze I am testing for my Ido style Chawan. This effect is called "Hare's Fur". I think I am going to like this one.
