Great post, debunix!
And thanks to puerhking, brlarson and Chip for your discussion on different brewing parameters. Makes you remember not to be afraid of experimenting until you get the result you like. It's easy to get a little lazy in that area and blame it on the tea.
I currently have a tea open that I don't enjoy that much and your posts motivate me to keep trying!

I just opened a new bag of Yutaka Midori "Kaoru Supreme LE", my most favourite green tea and the one that really got me hooked on sencha. What a wonderful way to start a new week!

Good enough that I bought some of the Winter 2010 version he got when he ran out of the spring, before I got my reorder in.

Jade Tips from Imen via a TCer! Reminds me a bit of Zhu Ye Qing.
Oh, and Sejak Korean greens, 3 samples from another TCer.

Hey Chip,
Have you tried the Zhu Ye Qing sourced by TeaSpring? If so, any good?

I have, but it is irrelevant since it was 2006 or 2007 harvest. But it was outstanding. As I recall it was reported as smokey early on after the harvest, but when I opened the bag 8-9 months later it really impressed me.

Drinking snow bud green tea (Lue Xue Ya Cha) and it's sending me into the highest tea heavens...I love this stuff!
This one gives me a powerful "tea high". Don't tell the authorities or they'll make it illegal...

this morning I had Yuuki Cha's Shizuoka Iroka matcha -
Good stuff....very little bitterness and not too much sweetness. I'm about halfway through the bag and would definitley buy it again.

Organic Shizuoka Sencha Sayamakaori from Yuuki-Cha. Quite bitter for me, even with a lower temperature.
